Ronthuz Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 What is the point of replacement abilities now that you have to retrain abilities every respect? It was less annoying to just switch out the old abilities on your hot bar.

If I spec out of Assault, I need to go retrain High Impact Bolt but if I drop Carnage, I lose Massacre and Devastating Blast but I then automatically relearn Vicious Slash and Force Scream. Some ACs just got the short stick until it's fixed.
verfallen Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 its random. if it happens re-choose the spec you just dropped, then re-abandon it. should give back the lost abilities. of course if you aren't a subscriber with respec galore you better carry some trainer item on you. very annoying, like ship power converters jumping in inventories every single time the game loads something. But BW were too busy assembling ther companion nerfhammer. Not that it wasn't needed (altough to that point its debatable) but you know...they need a priorities 101 class imo.
lironBD Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 iirc before 4.0 you could keep both abilities and if someone interrupted let's say blazing bolts you could still use unload or full auto instead. can't remember if it did but I remember vaguely.

No, back then, using an ability like Blazing Bolts would also put Unload on the exact same cooldown, which is essentially the same thing as Blazing Bolts simply replacing Unload. BW was just cleaning up our ability books and reducing the chance an inexperienced/uninformed player would continue to use the inferior version of an ability.
