pmrvos Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Launcher doesn't patch the game. Play button comes up, I hit it. Game gives me an error that says "Your current game version does not match the server's, please restart the game. Follow the help center link below for more information" Only... there is no link. I have tried deleting the xfrs and the config folder from bitraider already. Any help would be appreciated.
Phenryth Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Hello, Have the same problem but can play by clicking on "Play" and not toucing the error message window. Still looking for a solution...
OwenBrooks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Just my initial thoughts if the isp has transparent caching the manifest being downloaded is likely prior to recent patch , this will correct but depends on when they update the cache. if you have access to a different ISP it should behave but it will likely revert when connected to the one caching again the url that the manifest comes from is manifest.swtor.com and is the same file everyone downloads this then goes to the closest cdn governed by the DNS server used to cdn-patch.swtor.com and is usually footprint servers.
Liniarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Have the same problem as well, reinstalling game didn't help solve it
OwenBrooks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Have the same problem as well, reinstalling game didn't help solve it if it is what I think a vpn will help or trial a different isp connection would verify too what isp is being used by those with this error ? Liniarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 if it is what I think a vpn will help or trial a different isp connection would verify too what isp is being used by those with this error ? I'm from Israel so I doubt we all have the same ISP
OwenBrooks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 if your up for trialling a vpn , http://www.hotspotshield.com is free , just uninstall it afterwards as only for testing
Liniarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Update: seems I found solution - manually download patchmanifest - insert it into the launcher folder - lunch launcher. After that just wait till he done and message was gone for me.
OwenBrooks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) let me know if it comes back the launcher is like a web browser and so is the downloads and subject to same things that can affect a web browser it is possible when it checks next launch this may re-appear ? just want to be sure this is gone for you given when you re-installed it didn't help Edited January 13, 2016 by OwenBrooks
OwenBrooks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) was this the file you downloaded ? http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/patcher.patchmanifest that way others can try the same thing. it maybe something local stopping the update of the manifest as another option Edited January 13, 2016 by OwenBrooks

Took about 15 min processes then was done
DisIzMe Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I'm from Israel so I doubt we all have the same ISP Since i believe we do have the same isp ,patch is always available next day when it fails to download in the day of release. So if you do not do manual download you can always wait till next day and it will work. Probably some issue with bitraider pushing data to local server only few times a day. And for the record,as long as it is only cartel market assets update you can always play despite not updating and the message popping up. Just do not hit enter but click play button near one of your characters.
Liniarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Well seems like now every time I get "Reorganizing Data..." if quitting game and starting again - now that's fun, also some big patch always being installed, hell knows which patch that is Edited January 13, 2016 by Liniarian
Liniarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Seems client went berserk - always updating and organizing data lol
OwenBrooks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Why I asked prior if it was ok on the next launch if the manifest is still wrong being downloaded, it will try to revert the game to a state prior to the patch
DisIzMe Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Seems client went berserk - always updating and organizing data lol Happened to me once. The only "fix" was to reinstall the game. Behazlaha.
Liniarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Yea trying to change from stream launcher to normal one, maybe will help hehe
Liniarian Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Well that made problem worser - instead of looking at "Reorganizing Data" looking at "Downloading main assets" and pretty much every time redownloading whole game. Not much fun either.
Liniarian Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Update : seems now cant even install game, in middle of download he decided to reorganize data, goes up 10%, does it again, goes down 20%, and does this in circles - any ideas?

Completely uninstall the game, and then reinstall it without bitraider. This should work just fine.

Rafiknoll Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 im also from Israel and am having this problem. had it also in 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3. no idea what solved it for those times though... do the others from Israel also use the isp "Bezeq International"? trying to figure if its the isp or not. the thing I was doing to avoid repeated long downloads in the meantime was to open the game folder while the game patches, and copy the contents off all the "assets_swtor_..._-XtoY" once they are no longer partial downloads (they become z0X files once the patch reaches certain points in the download, u can pause the patcher as soon as it finished downloading and before it finishes installing each asset, this is when all of them have been converted to z0X files and can be copied, after the install is over the whole folder is gone). if later I need to download something that I am certain I downloaded before, I just look which folder appeared in the game folder as the patcher started downloading it, close the launcher, copy the z0X matching the folder back into this folder in the game folder and restart the launcher, the launcher will now resume through the whole thing, in about 0.02-4GB/s, which is really fast, and get to the installing. repeat the proc and you can skip all downloads (and then worst case the game launcher will take about 10 mins to be ready to play, but not hours

Got in game for a sec, quitted and now again he verifies and downloads some stuff Edit: managed to get in game now, and again it says my current game version does not match server version Edited January 14, 2016 by Liniarian

Got in game for a sec, quitted and now again he verifies and downloads some stuff if you have "verifying" or "reorganizing data" it means first of all that you haven't successfully converted from bitraider and stream version. I suggest you make sure that part is taken care of before you keep looking for a solution.

Did manage to get in game now, and it says versions of game don't match servers
