sartt Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'm only hitting 16k crit railshots but i see commandos hitting 20k with their ability. and my heatseeker missile only crits 23k max ( off sorcs ) i've seen snipers hit 30-35k ambushes .

I've yet to see an ambush north of 26-28K on a geared opponent. 16K is about right for rail shot.

Flintfire Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Heatseekers my top so far (remember im not fully ranked geared and min/maxed) has been 26k so far. Railshot's highest so far has been 17k. Heatseeker hits harder than railshot, I wouldnt worry about it. It still is a great hard hitting ability when you think many classes hardest attack is still lower then our railshot and that is not even our heaviest hitter. And never compare your burst to snipers you aren't gonna win that one, ambush is the single hardest hitting move in the game. Don't worry heatseeker isn't far behind. Only one between is AP Energy Burst, in my opinion from my observations.
Lalainnia Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Relic procs, set bonus, raid buffs, warzone expertise boosts and debuffs from other specs so for example in arsenals case an AP powertechs thermal detonator would apply the susceptible debuff which increases damage taken by tech abilites by 5% this is the debuff arsenal benefits from but doesn't have access to. Most cases tho tend to be on targets with expertise lower then 2018 or on a sorc/shaodw that have light armor.
Jherad Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) Yeah, it you have the gear, then it's really just a question of what gear the other guy is wearing. Heatseeker is probably the third or so hardest hitting attack - as Flintfire says, behind Ambush and Energy Burst. I've had HSM hit for a little under 34k twice before, and I've seen 20k priming shots, and huge railshots - but they were against people with almost no expertise. Against a full geared PvPer, 24k HSMs, 16k railshots and 10k priming shots are about what you might expect on the top end as crits, depending on procs, buffs, DCDs etc. Edited November 18, 2015 by Jherad

I'm not sure where people come up with this but sniper mobility is better then merc mobility when it comes to escaping while merc dps wins out when it comes to dealing damage while moving. For snipers 1 simple utility which most snipers take, seek cover 50% speed boost and movement immunity for 6 secs anytime you get out of cover while entrench is active yes. The reason snipers should hit harder imo even though some may disagree is that all 3 disciplines for the class are dps they should have the second highest attainable dps output right behind maras (melee) with effort ofc. Which is somewhat the case in pve AP techs are op over there as well.

Only one between is AP Energy Burst, in my opinion from my observations. Yeah... Try hitting for 10-12k on a Lighning Sorc as you biggest hit against properly geared people. And to the OP, if you see people hitting harder than you, sometimes it's because the person they are hitting has low expertise... All the highest hits I've done on any of my toons have been against people geared with low expertise... Ie they've had the absolute highest PVE gear with no crystals in weapons... I've crit 22k on my lightning Sorc against a 800 expertise person... Crit 30k on my Merc against a person with 900 expertise... Doing roughly 16k crits with rail shot are about right unless you get someone with low expertise, then you might get a "golden" crit of 25-30k
