I completed it with no issues in tank gear against mobs and bosses as well as in dps gear against only bosses. I tested it after the nerf and cant even do the second pull of trash. I then stealthed to the boss and again wasn't even close. You already took away soloing with level sync, now you took away this too. The companions aren't even healing for half what they were before. A nerf would have been a 10-15% reduction, you killed them with this change. I won't get into the PvP and PvE bugs that should have been addressed before you even touched companions. Change them back or make them useful again or you loose yet another subscriber.

I'm not a PvEer so I don't really care. I can still tear through the NPCs like tissue paper. I just have to heal myself more. I do admit I did like the extra heal and power from my comps. Now, lets see how many PvPers I can get to rage quit the game after I slaughter them over and over in open world when their companions can no longer carry them. ROFLOL. You fail to realize I was able to, then wasn't. It wasn't a nerf it was a death of companions. There are many like myself who are good at soloing. We take the time to learn the fights so we have a fun challenge. They took all of that away with level sync. I was ok with it because they made my healing companion useful for a change. They now took that away too. Hammer Station is the easiest Tact HM. Which is why it was my test. You do understand that Tact HM's drop 208 for reg bosses and 216 for the end boss right? Why would you think you would be a burden in gear that you won't even get upgraded in there?

I understand the reasons when people who are not satisfied spend time on forums but for someone who seems to be such an 'amazing' player and cant stop drooling over new changes. I am also a good player and good soloer. I would know better then most on what is an over nerf and what isn't. Not all of us kiss Bio's butt and are blind to what ever they do. If you don't see the major issue with the over nerf you have some serious fanboy issues.

The game should not be balanced around a single person doing content that is meant for more than one.

BW did one thing wrong, imo, they over did the companion boost and let players get used to playing on uber easy mode, where there was no challenge even in content more intended for group play. They should have done some (more?) testing, boosted them less and tweaked from there. Yeah, you could before... because they were insanely OP. Hammer Station is the easiest HM Tact in the game, which is why it was my test flashpoint. Also if I was the only one complaining about this you might have had a point. I'm not. Not even close to the only one who can see the obvious over nerf. Not to mention if a healer left in some flashpoints the companion was able to take over as long as the person controlled them taking them out of aoe etc... It's obvious it was an over nerf, so no idea why you're trying to justify it.

What are you even talking about? Not all HM flashpoints can be soloed. This was just a test I did to prove if it was an over nerf, and under nerf or a balanced one. One that BioWare failed. Badly...

No I am going to quit if they don't fix this obvious over nerf. They took away soloing when they implemented the level sync. Having companions be useful for a change was the balance. They now took away the balance as well as made them more or less useless. I can solo hard things because I am good at it. As you see there are a lot of other players who aren't soloers having major issues with just Star Fort... Try to think about all aspects before replying again.

But this thread HAS to be a joke if you're complaining that you're no longer able to SOLO a HARD MODE flashpoint. I mean, I was struggling with Tactical FP's before the nerf and that was with 2-3 other people. Egads! What is this world coming to? It reminds me of in City of Heroes, when tankers used to be able to pull whole rooms of purple (3+ level above) mobs and solo them without losing any health. They nerfed that of course and oh boy the crying. Uh, yeah? Anyhow I do think they went way overboard with the nerfs and it's definitely made me not want to play as much. I went through a few heroics on a couple different characters and companion combos last night and it was extremely tedious. They were a little tedious before (solo) and I always preferred to do them grouped if possible, but now they're downright painful. But that's content that's designed to be difficult, but not impossible. Even a Tactical mode FP is supposed to be doable with an unbalanced group but a large number of those fail, or if they do finish, it's after multiple deaths. Here's a hard mode FP that's designed for a balanced group of people in 216+ gear and woe to the person who can't do one by themselves! If anyone could, then I have to agree companions were totally broken before. But for me, there was still a LOT of content (even a few heroics) that I couldn't get through solo even with the OP companions, and I know I'm a MMO vet, SWTOR founder. I use cooldowns and custom keybinds, do around 60+ APM, use damage meters, all that stuff. Sheesh, some people!

Now, unless your 5 levels higher than the planet your on, with equivalently leveled gear and Legacy equipped, you can't. If I need 216 gear to do a HEROIC that drops, at max, 208 gear, then somethings wrong.

Removing level sync and bringing back companions to pre 4.0 state should fix this.You can work for coms gerar and do this easy mode

The only reason that most of my characters didn't solo Task Forces regularly was because they wouldn't let you start them without a group!

According to Eric's original post about companions, I should be able to do any HEROIC content with just me and a companion. Maybe your thinking Flashpoints, which are not HEROICS. So again, if I need 216 gear to do a HEROIC that drops, at max, 208 gear, then somethings broken. You don't grind HEROICS for inferior gear.

Bioware said in their blog: Influence Directly Increases Companion Power In a way, Influence kind of functions like "relationship XP" with your Companion. As you build Influence with a Companion, your Influence rank will increase. Every time a Companion's Influence ranks up, that Companion gains a scaling bonus to Presence (which increases Companion damage, healing, and health), as well as bonuses to crew skill time efficiency and critical rate. For example: when converted into Influence, 10,000 Affection (the cap for the old system) is exactly enough Influence to hit Rank 10, which equates to +500 Presence, +15% Crew Skill Time Efficiency Bonus, and a +5% Crew Skill Critical bonus. As an additional note: We are changing the way that Presence works such that each point provides percentage based bonuses, instead of flat numerical bonuses. This more or less translates into two things: Sadly, the Companions of low level characters with massive Presence bonuses from their legacies will no longer be hilariously overpowered (I promise we're just as sad to see this go as you are, it provided some good times). Presence will scale much better at higher levels. My affection and presence was maxed out before 4.0, but now since the nerf my companion now heals less than it did before 4.0. Also, my companion is now maxed out again since 4.0 release at rank 50 and I have 3678 presence. So how how does this new companion system "increase companion power"? But NOW 4.0+ YOU RUINED IT ALL. Its not kinda -10\15% nerf its all about -50\60% nerf! My darn Treek with 28 influence healing worse than Treek pre-4.0! Im a old timer and since 2011 i got subscription, but now im thinking for what? They ruined a solo game aspects. We had a choice - to do some stuff solo (harder, longer) or with friend\group (easier, faster). NOW (idk ffs) with nerfed companions you force us to find a player\group for some heroics and stuff. Are you kiddin us? Just because some "social lovers" who cant do stuff solo or afraid to be alone cried like - oooooo companions is so OP?? Just why? I cant understand... Yeh it was OP after 4.0 but FFS to nerf like that? I hope there will be official answers like "Why we did that" or "We so stupid so we wont remake it" . Anyway i got my sub till march, if there will be no patch for companions or good and strong proves about nerf - bye bye swtor.

The Heroic difficulty mode for a given planet's Star Fortress is unlocked by completing the planetary resistance Mission arc for that planet. This mode is intended for groups of 2 players (with their respective Companions). That being said, it is possible for a solo player to complete Heroic mode, provided that player has a high-rank Companion, and has built Influence with their Alliance specialists (as this unlocks access to various usable objects within the Heroic mode that provide powerful buffs and additional abilities).
