twpotter Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I have spent the evening testing the nerf on characters level 10, 37, 50. 60 and 65. 1. Level 65 Trooper Dps character in full 218 gear with +50 influence companion Result- Star fortress, easy enough with Heroic moment on last boss and Elite Bosses. Makeb H2s all easy enough apart from the one with the panels on the walls ( i couldnt solo that before the patch so no worries) All the rest of the H2s were a walk through. 2. Level 60 Sage Healer. with +41 comp (Not valid for SF) Makeb H2s as above 3. Level 37 Trooper healer with +27 comp H2s Balmorra. Collicoid ones were impossible, dead in 5 seconds, 10 seconds with self heals. May have been gearing but level sync should have fixed that i feel Ord mantel...mobs more or less died just by looking at me. 4. Level 15 Scoundrel healer with corso +2 Ord mantel H2s easily doable although i did take a bit of damage.iiiiiiiiii Reckon Bioware just need to tweek the lower level stuff.
PulseRazor Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Im still plowing content, I notice almost no difference, apart from the fact that I can get some satisfaction out of dealing the damage myself before my companion gets all the glory. Heroic Star Fortress however is an entirely different issue. It took everything I had to make it to the exarch, rearranging my bars, hotkeying companion passive to keep them out of the bad spots, even using Heroic Moment which I have never done in any content. I don't yet have the player skill in this spec to kill the last boss, I panic and mash my skills In 208 gear with lvl 5 specialists and only lvl 25 on my companion, I am not prepared for this 'endgame' encounter. I am totally okay with this, gives me something to work for, and something to be proud of when I do get to that point. When my skills get sharper with this new spec I am playing, and I earn better gear and alliance progression, I will kill the Heroic mode exarchs.

Stuns and interupts are now an absolute must for the last boss... and try keep as much agro off the comp (unless in tank mode) as you can.
Pavijan Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 My report from last night: Did all class stories, one of them with a Human. So there is some Legacy bonus. 1) LvL 65 Shadow. Serenity discipline. Gear: mix of 178, 190 and 208 gear. (190 mainhand). Puled out lvl 1 influence companion: Imperial ship droid. Set him in Healer mode. Low level heroics Coruscant, Tatooine. Still a easy, you just have only to pay attention not to pull tree groups at once. If you do it one at the time., you will be fine. Not used and defensive cool-downs or heroic mode - there was no need for them. High level Heroics : Illum one and a couple on Makeb ("Savage skies" ans another one, forgot it's name). PERFECTLY DOABLE, but you got to PAY ATTENTION and PLAY IT SMART that being : use your def cool-down, interrupt and stuns. You know that abilities that all of you have and most of you probably never use ,based on some things that I'm hearing here... 2) LvL 25 Juggernaut. All in green leveling green gear, with maybe a couple of blues. The same companion as above. Nar Shadaa heroics: Very fun and not really hard. No cool-downs and such needed, you just need to focus to kill things as fast as possible so they don't overwhelm you, and of course DON'T PULL MORE THAN ONE GROUP. Ended few Heroic with companion in tank mode and it did it 's job just fine. Conclusion: LOW LEVEL INFLUENCE are performing PERFECT, not too strong but still pretty capable at their job. On HIGH INFLUENCE companions I can't make judgement because I don't have any above 11 (because it's a pointless grind). But IF IT IS as the people are saying that lvl 50 influence comps are under-performing than Presence bonus need to be buffed. So: Leave the low-level companions as they are now, because the game is fun again! And IF NEEDED buff Presence (Influence) bonus so that lvl 50 companions can perform as 224 BiS geared players with perfect rotation, and than grinders will have their god-mode companions and rest of us can play the game as we like, with normal companions, and EVERYONE'S HAPPY.
Senkoau Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Out of curiosity you kept saying don't pull too many groups at once what about the sysuss compound for into the warrens on Alderaan? 1st char no real legacy/datacron benefits with a lvl 16 Kira in heal mode every step in that compound pulls 2+ groups with 4+ gold elite mobs. Its pretty much impossible for a non-stealth class not to pull too many groups there how did you find that one with a low level companion on your non endgame geared legacy toon?

Thanks, haven't done them all myself yet but the one I'm thinking of is "Into the warrens" specifically the courtyard at Sysuss compound where there's so many mobs its almost impossible for someone without stealth/ranged/pull options to avoid stirring up several mobs at once especially if your companion decides to jump off and attack one or you get pushed/pulled through one. I know I've still a lot to learn and I've not got most of the legacy stuff but I could manage 1 mob of 2 elites + friends its when I get 2 or more mobs all attacking at once that my lvl 16 kira just couldn't keep up with the damage the 4-5 gold elites where doing even after the trash were eliminated.

There your problem right there no every one has that as some have just starting to play the game. So fine if you do but this is not a game of founders that have this it is meant to be fun for both. Catering to you and not taking into the consideration people don't have heroic moments with other 8 class dps abilities s bad design.
Dbohrius Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I play as a Sentinel in mostly 216 Augmented gear and an Influence level 27 companion. Star Fortress is harder, but entirely doable with the companion on Heal. But here's the catch: I'm almost fully Augmented, I have all Datacrons, and quite a big Presence boost. I don't know how this would work out for an entirely new player starting his Legacy with a free lvl 60 playing through KOTFE. I suspect it will be next to impossible, or at least very hard, and that does seem counter to the goal of making the game friendly toward new people.
