heythereqt Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Not a complaint thread, just want to post some honest observations and reactions to a few recent changes. I will say I'm a big supporter of most of KOTFE/4.0, but a few of the changes just seem like complete backwards thinking and really don't make any sense to me. I'll start with the recent companion nerf: The endgame alliance system requires a major heroic and star fortress grind. This grind was quite enjoyable, believe it or not, with the initial companion changes in 4.0. It's quite the opposite now. Why take a grind that was actually fun (a rare thing for grinds), and make it tedious and boring again by nerfing our companions? Having to take a long time to complete the same set of heroics week after week isn't challenging, nor fun. Some may enjoy spending 20 minutes on a single heroic with a near-useless companion just to grind for one alliance or gear box, but most of us don't have 10 hours a day to play this game like they might. With the Leveling System in 4.0, modification vendors had their blue mods removed in favor of green ones. This meant that the most sensible (and fun) way to gear yourself was to do so through heroics. And yet with the companion nerf, it takes far more time and unnecessary effort to complete said heroics. The 4.0 Leveling System was supposed to provide us with more options for a more enjoyable experience, not bottleneck us into spending more time grinding heroics than we do playing the actual story. Additional "Backwards Thinking" Changes: Taking away the stats on companion gear so that gear is cosmetic-only (a change I very much support)...but then making it so that none of the new companions are customizable. Having more than a few vendors in the game that require cartel market certificates, but then essentially removing any means of actually being able to get any. Sorry for the long post. Believe it or not I had 1 or 2 more of these in mind before I typed this out...been a long day. As I said, I'm generally a big supporter of KOTFE/4.0, but these changes just seem completely illogical.
