ElDoggie Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 So I've decided I'm done playing on very low and getting 15 fps so I put together a fairly cheap gaming PC. I have no knowledge of PC's so first of all will all these parts work together and the PC will actually run? And if all the parts work what kind of settings on SWTOR can I expect to be able to run smoothly? The PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
MillionsKNives Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 That looks like a really solid build. The CPU should do you really well, and that's one of the more important things for this game. And with that CPU cooler you could even overclock it pretty well for better performance (if you're into that level of tinkering). This game isn't the most demanding on GPU so even a GTX 960 should be good. At worst you might have to turn down the shadows. The only things you might want to think about swapping out would be getting 16 GB of RAM and possibly upgrading to a GTX 970. But, in most scenarios 8 GB is more than sufficient. 16 would be more of a "it's so cheap, why not" in giving yourself more headroom than you'll need. And GTX 970 would likewise be another case of giving yourself more headroom, especially for things like shadows in SWTOR, or if you play any more modern games. But those are both not necessary and only really something to look into if you've got room in your budget.
