Taraq Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Since the introduction of legacy armor we are able to transfer our gear between Republic and Empire characters. All force classes even can transfer the mainhands of their advanced class. Tech classes instead are bound to their special mainhand weapon type. Force Classes Assassin - ShadowBoth Double-bladed LightsaberSorcerer - SageBoth One-Handed LightsaberJuggernaut - GuardianBoth One-Handed LightsaberMarauder - SentinelBoth Dual-Handed Lightsaber Tech Classes Powertech - VanguardBlaster Pistol - Blaster RifleMercenary - CommandoDual Blaster Pistol - StormcannonOperative - ScoundrelBlaster Rifle - Blaster PistolSniper - GunslingerSniper Rifle - Dual Blaster Pistol It would be nice if i could transfer my blaster pistol from i.e. my powertech to my vanguard and use it right away without having to disassemlbe it and put the barrel/mod/enhancement in a blasterrifle. Maybe add the "Weapon Proficiency: Blaster Pistol" to the Vanguard Class. And so on with the other mirror classes.
LadyVix Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Rather than pay outrageous prices gearing all of my characters, I use legacy gear and transfer everything via legacy storage. 1 set of legacy DPS armor (220) 1 set of legacy Tanking armor (216/220) 1 legacy lightsaber (with 220 hilt) 1 legacy double bladed lightsaber (220 hilt) 1 legacy main hand pistol (220 barrel) 1 legacy blaster rifle (220 barrel) 1 legacy sniper rifle (220 barrel) 1 legacy cannon (220 barrel) It took some time and credits, but through my legacy bank I can pretty much equip any of my characters and mask their armor so they don't look totally horrible. I still have to get offhands for everyone either via commendations or from teh GTN, but it works. (for now) My only serious gripe is that the legacy Odessan weapons that I predominantly use are absolutely ugly, and we have no way to mask our weapon appearances.
drokzjunk Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) But why can force classes just mail them to their mirror class and tech classes cannot? That's the point. The only thing that works for tech classes is cross advanced classes and that's just a few. ALaggyGrunt Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 The dual-wield/single-wield makes slightly different levels of effectiveness. Sniper vs slinger: slinger needs more accuracy for the offhand to be useful, which means less of other (crit/alacrity) secondary stats. Same with commando vs merc, except it's backwards.

If you're gearing for extra accuracy on a slinger/merc/marauder/sentinel, you are doing something wrong.
Jamtas Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 with mastery changes it isn't as bad for tech classes. If you play 1 of everything, really only the sniper and commando are unique Gs, Merc, Scoundrel and PT can all share a MH VG=Operative with rifle Sniper only one using sniper rifle Commando only one using cannon Now with Offhands Commando, Vanguard & PT share the generator VG and PT share Shield Merc and GS share the pistol Operative and Sniper Share the knife Scoundrel alone with the shotgun
No-ga Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) So the Vanguard tank and the operative could swap the main hand? Or the PT tank and a merc. Or PT tank and a VG. Well there are some tech classes they can swap their main- off-hands. But not as convenient as force classes. Make it easier for them especially with the mastery main stat now.
