Got more,a ton more, let me know if you want the links.

Oh and btw atleast we dont need to have 2 different news programs here in Spain, here we just have one but over there you guys need two,one with the ACTUAL news and then another one so they can break it down "Sesame Street" style so you can actually understand the meaning of the information you are getting.

Want me to name a couple more dozen countries where mistakes like this happen EVERY DAY?

As a spaniard i take offense on this as you trying to make a big deal out of a minor mistake on one tv program but hey if it makes you "feel" superior go ahead.

Given who they are associating it with, I would hardly call it a minor mistake. Especially given recent events, it could get some people unfairly targeted by those who aren't exactly star wars fans, and don't realize the truth about the emblem. Yet they seen that symbol on the news in association with ISIS. For some people, that is all you need to instigate violent retribution that would now fall on an innocent victim.

Seriously? Nobody is going to point out that The Rebel Alliance bombed two governement buildings in the OT?

/Sarcasm off

Either a simple mistake or some intern goofing off.

Happened to CNN too iirc. they used a Halo logo instead of the United Nations logo at some point.

To be honest, as an American and SW fan I was more concerned with what they might be saying in regards to the rebel symbol. I don't understand what is being said so I wasn't going to comment one way or the other. It would be sad if the symbol has actually been adopted by some bad people. Isis used to be a beautiful name for women (and my niece) before it had negative association forced on it. :(

I remember that happening on BBC with the Halo UNSC logo. Google is not the friend of the media.

Most of the world knows them as Da'ish, or Daesh. ISIS is just a western thing.

Now I know, and knowing is half the battle. But yes, it's a western thing and is what I have to reference on a day to day social basis. I'm sure if I mentioned Da'ish, or Daesh at work I would get blank stares. >_< Thank you though for letting me know.

Well, I especially like using that term because the terrorists consider it an insult. People who live in areas they occupied were executed for using it.

Edit: Probably should explain it, Daesh is similar to a slang term, dayes (I'm forgetting a whole bunch of accents I believe), which basically means one who causes trouble, rabble-rouser, except in a vulgar way.
