CAMELOTCRUSADE Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Ran through both Maelstrom Prison and Taral V tacticals this weekend with two 40-45s in roughly level equivalent gear. We ran with 1 uber healing companion and a 1 tank companion. Both of us were DPS. It was fun (and long, as intended) but we ran into some problems I wanted to share: In Taral V we couldn't defeat the bonus mob, Lord Hasper. He pulls you in and wallops with a force storm that slows and kills you in 2-3 ticks. There are healing stations (inside the force storm!) but the damage is overwhelming. In Maelstrom Prison the bonus mob is a Sith Beast with an unavoidable ground stomp for 40-60% off your life. There are no healing stations and it was not doable for us. Healer was desperately healing himself and then the next one hits. I suggest healing stations be added. In Maelstrom Prison Kilran was impossible. His Snipe attack cannot be interrupted and did 4-6k more in damage than either of us had in hit points. Our companion tank (with 110k hp) could take 2-3 hits with healing but Kilran targets around so he'll get you eventually (we had 55 and 58k hp, he does 60+). Tried it a few times with 45 gear bolstered and it was a non-starter.Maelstrom prison has a punishingly long walk back if you die at either Kilran or the bonus mob. Taral V does too but at least you can use your mount there. To sum up I strongly suggest Kilran be adjusted. If BW wants bonus mobs to be doable by any old group then I suggest they adjust those as well.
Madscidexter Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Personally, the tactical FP's are not designed to be run with companions. Also, Kilran's laser mechanic is suppose to be avoided. You should not be eating the damage during this phase. LOS him around the boxes to get through this mechanic without taking damage. This will most likely require agro from a RL person and not a companion though. (Yes, I just challenged those to complete the FP with a tanking companion. Have fun.) Edit: I confused Kilran with Colonel Daksh. Edited November 16, 2015 by Madscidexter
CAMELOTCRUSADE Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Not sure if I was unclear... it doesn't matter if you have a tank on Kilran, he will target those who aren't the tank with his sniper shot. The problem is the bolster is not enough, he is one-shotting characters in 40s blue gear. My comps were just fine (they have tons of HP). Edited November 16, 2015 by CAMELOTCRUSADE
Frenesi Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Ok, refresh my memory - are you talking about his sniper-mode, when he is also invincible, and party slowed to hell? Becouse you aren't supposed to take those - you should hide behind columns and crates while approaching him. As for force storm - ever tryed to not stand in it? Pop CC immunity when you know it's about to start, burn speedup to get out. Is that really so hard to do?

Snipe = Kilran is in his "sniper mode" So, if you ignore the mechanics then that's exactly what you get.
Kogull_x Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Get your facts straight. 1. Kilran's sniper shot is supposed to leave you with less than 10% HP. That's how it was for the last 3 years. Not oneshotting you. 2. It's forevermore inevitable to pass by kilran without being shot at least one time. That was supposed to be part of his dificulty. Now it's all broken. 3. The bonus boss on Taral had a trick. you could lose LOS when he was forcelightning you, now his lightning goes through walls. Except that, the damage it does is extremely boosted (12k damage per tick). The mob was supposed to be a high powered champion for level 32, which equals a level 40 champion mob. Now that it's gone Level 65, it's like a Level 72 champion mob with 600k HP. Scaling is clearly failed. 4. The bonus boss on Taral, before he does the force storm he pulls all players, and stuns them. No CCbreaker works for 1 second, and after that you re slowed. Only way to avoid being killed is with Sage's force speed, Sentinel's 99% damage reduction ability, or Sentinels level 65 blade dance skill, Commando's level 65 jet boost [backstep] skill, Gunslinger's/scoundrel's roll forward skill. This means that if your level isn't high enough to have any of these escape skills you 're royally scr3wed!!! Good job Bioware!! Next time they pay you $100.000.000 you'll frack up the whole game!!!
Peverder Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 bioware should have done what they did to the planets to the FP's sync u down not sync everyone to 65 but i guess they didnt want to copy SE's syncing in final fantasy heavensward
benficakungfu Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 bioware should have done what they did to the planets to the FP's sync u down not sync everyone to 65 but i guess they didnt want to copy SE's syncing in final fantasy heavensward Its both ways, you still have sync up lowbies while syncing down high levels... What we are witnessing is a complete disregard for organization in the name of money. Should i add fast money.
Peverder Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 in FF u cant do a dungeon u havn't unlocked and u cant unlock them unless ur at the min level for it
Yorioko Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 The Magic answer to TS "question" is T A C T I C S.................brains over brawl
Aiman_Dee Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 if you avoid LOS then you shouldn't be getting 1 shot by kilran. Bonus bosses aren't not required to be killed in order to complete the flashpoint, their difficulty is irrelevant regardless of game mode, because if you find them too difficult, just don't do them.
