LeeLoou Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Are all the new missions from the NPC's on Odessen PvP missions? I have travelled to 2 alerts so far only to get missions to go into a PvP area. I don't PvP, I don't like PvP, and will not participate in PvP. I don't feel I should be forced into participating in PvP just to complete PvE missions. I got nothing against PvP and if that is what people want to do that's fine but I don't want to be one of them. If this is the direction the game is going then I guess I will have to quit again. I was starting to think things were changing and the game was getting better but as usual with this game its just another let down.

Make a forum post filled with indignation and threatening to quit before you even bother to try the alliance end game. If only more people were like you. Ps. Very little pvp is needed. PPs. Deal with it.

I am not going to pay money to play a game that forces me to to things I don't like. I joined a PvE server to get away from *******s but I guess you wouldn't understand that being one of them.
Ceinwyn Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 only 4x and pierce are walled behind PVP as far as i know. Ditto. To what content do you refer if not the M1-4X/Pierce recruitment missions?

A) What is fun is subjective, should each and everyone make posts about that one quesy where they have to pick up twenty hyperdrivr modulators for the umpteenth time? B) I am primarily not a pvper. C) My only real point was your awful, indignated and bloated self-entitled tone in OP. D) Whining before actually even bothering to try. Edited November 16, 2015 by Eksenia
LeeLoou Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I guess you didn't read my post. I did try 2 missions and both sent me to PvP zones. Also, before starting the fallen empire I was doing a mission from the revan prelude with the macrobinoculars and seeker droids and both ended up sending me into PvP zones. Someone said there were only 4 of the new companion missions that involved pvp. I was doing a mission from Lana and did another I don't remember which but it was one of the alerts, and both of those also ended in PvP. I don't know whats so hard to understand? Some people like PvP so they join a PvP server. Some people don't like PvP so they join a PvE server. the two shouldn't mix unless the player wants it to and that's why PvE'ers can do warzones and such. Also, if you take a mission that has PvP aspects, you should be made aware of that before accepting or declining the mission. There are simple little things that would be simple to add that could make the game more enjoyable for everyone. As things are, they cater to the PvP crowd.
Eksenia Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 This game does the exact opposite of catering to the pvp crowd (for better or worse). That is simply a false statement, regardless of having to visit a pvp zone for a minute in macrobins/hk questline, or that 2 comps require you to afk in a few warzones. It's quite simply a false statement.

There is only two quests for the alliance system that requires pvp and they are 100% optional, you need to only speak to them to unlock the next bit of the chain for Lokin after Qyzen. Now these quests are 1 for each faction, so where are you coming up with 4 pvp forced quests? No need to repeat you don't like pvp, I get it, I want to know specifically what alliance quest you are referencing (quest names) to reach the conclusion you have of the pvp crowd being catered to.
NRieh Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) only 4x and pierce are walled behind PVP as far as i know. Them, and EACH AND EVERY companion 'chained' behind them (if any). Same as Lokin is chained to Qyzen - no quest for the latter without recruiting the former, and no third companion 'X' before completing the missions for both. No matter how much you hate either of the two. But that's not about PvP, the entire design which does not give an option not to recruit in order to progress is flawed. I suspect by "PvP zones" you actually mean "going though the opposed faction outpost". And it has nothing to do with the quests. It's an old "bug" (or design?) which was never addressed - your quest objective is on another map and you have to fly there. But game pathfinder shows you the shortest way which is often goes through the enemies territory. Just check the map and use the right path.

The one quest for the macrobinoculars you actually have to go into republic territory ( being imperial) only for about a minute and you can come right back out. the problem is that now you are flagged and have to avoid PvP for 10 minutes. I got ganked the second I stepped foot outside the area and didn't even have time to call a companion ( companions being dismissed in this pvp zone). Then the a hole camped my corpse and was going to try to keep killing me every time I spawned. Again, I shouldn't have to enter PvP zones and risk this just to complete a simple mission. I should be warned before I accept the mission that there are PvP areas and I might have to defend myself, then it would be my choice if I wanted to continue or decline the mission.
LeeLoou Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 See this post http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=852402 Actually this kind of helps and is partly the problem I was having. It was a long weekend of frustrating quests ending in failure due to the PvP element. thanks for the posts.
