ChewyDiddles Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I realize the damage is done but on one of my chars I chose the lightside option for Xalex not realizing it would permanently not make him a companion for me even if it makes him an ally which is still confusing in a sense. But had I realized it would be permanent, I would have chosen differently. It would be nice to be able to go back and try to recruit companions or dismiss them say you get one you don't want after the fact. Right now it is too easy to screw up your choices and end up not making the decision wish you had. Same goes with romancing Koth or Theron. I would like to see them give us a chance to change our minds if we decide we made the wrong choice at the time.
BlazeTomahawk Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Maybe this is what they meant by "choices that matter?"

GetPloughed Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I know with refusing Lokin, both he and Steve Blum voiced character #1056 hinted that we will meet up with him again in the future. He has a swift death waiting for him in the future, I really hope BioWare doesn't screw around with this, it's been 4 years and I have yet to get the opportunity to kill the last Imperial Imp who thought he could step up to the big Sith Dog that runs this block. I can't wait another 4 years to drop Lokin after the stunt he pulled. As for Xalek, I thought the light side option imprisons him? So while he is still alive I can't see him wanting to join you in the future.
ChewyDiddles Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Yep you are right choices that matter but unless you are a robot, then there is a chance you will make a mistake you wish you could undo too along the way of this new content seeing as most of this new content was not released in advanced and found out as you go along. The information out there now is not entirely complete and making a game full of choices one would hope you could at some point change your mind about your allies/companions/enemies/romances as the story continues to develop.
erei Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Maybe this is what they meant by "choices that matter?" Then I guess that's the only place in KOTFE where choices actually matter BTW, Xalek is still part of my little band, even though I choose to imprison him. However, he will remember my "cruelty". In life, if you make an incorrect choice, can you go back and undo it? No, of course not. What's done is done. Same here. Yes, it's a game, but it's a game where you are living the life of a hero. Choices have consequences. If I were able to go back and change the choice, that would ruin the feel of it. I wouldn't feel that I'm living the life of a Jedi or Sith any longer, but just playing something that doesn't matter. If it's really that important to you, then make another character that's the same class, play through the story again and just do everything over. Make this character your new main, your new "life" as it were.

Storm-Cutter Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) If you play through it again, and have the chance to recruit the companion as an ally, you could get into the limbo that in one character's universe the companion is dead, in the other, they might be alive. -albeit in a shared universe!.... - Which might further complicate things if there are further story elements involving those companions.... Maybe the choices should be Legacy wide- not a great option, admittedly..... but It'd would make more sense canon wise.... As for DS characters refusing Valky's power being only a LS choice..... How does that work then? Not all Dark Siders are Power-hungry megalomaniacs.... Edited November 16, 2015 by Storm-Cutter
