Lattervane Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Can we get anyone from Bioware to please address the current state of pvp from a development standpoint, and what future plans are going forward? Also, do you guys actually play your own game in pvp? If so, how can you look at all the glaring issues facing pvp today ( sorc/sage healing specifically is out of control) and do nothing about them, or even acknowledge them to your own player base? It shows a complete lack of respect for your paying customers and is utterly incomprehensible how you manage to get away with it. *** are you guys doing all day at work? What's more important than addressing your customer base and tackling these issues head on? Are you simply not capable of it? Are you THAT inept at your jobs? I live fairly close to Austin and have considered organizing a mass gathering at your office to demand answers from someone face to face. Sadly, I don't think anything would come of it and it would probably be massive waste of my time and energy. You should hire a specific person to manage/communicate with the PvP community to discuss and address and ultimately fix the issues we want fixed. Your game is for us, not you. Get it together. Now.
DomiSotto Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) You'd take to the streets because really good players can perform incredibly awesome on one role on one AC when supported by a strong team? That kind of thing moves you, when 90% of humanity suffers grave ills daily? I am sure they will tune down the sage/sorc heals soonish. They did it before, they will do it again. For all we know, they will go back to the lackluster. Some AC will always be stronger at something. It's really not that bad. Edited November 13, 2015 by DomiSotto

Still haven't run across any of those un-killable sage/sorc facetank-healer hybrids that everyone is ranting about, but sure, nerf healers so that myself (and many of my friends) can run around all but globaling everyone.
DomiSotto Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) Neither I was ever inclined to face-tank. In fact, only yesterday, our trinity was destroyed in a reg arena by 4 DPS team. Split focus on the tank and self with 2.8K + DPS each while our two did far less impressive. Edited November 13, 2015 by DomiSotto

Split focus on the tank and self with 2.8K + DPS each while our two did far less impressive. I think you've done a very good job of explaining the issue, when some players are capable of pulling 3.5-4.5k dps on single target burst specs (MM, AP, Carnage/Fury, Rage, Arsenal. Concealment) while others struggle to pull 2k dps on aoe dot spread specs (vengence, lt/madness, hatred, etc) then it's not absurd that some people are going to feel like healers are OP and others are going to feel like healers are not OP. My biggest issue with most of the people complaining about healers is: 1: When they actually explain the issue they are talking about stacked healers or healers who are protected by teammates 2: Most of them agree that mercs are slightly underpowered, ops have great sustained hps but have problems dealing with burst, but sorcs are OP 3: Then they'll admit that they can actually kill all three healers 1 is an issue with matchmaking. 2 and 3 simply cannot co-exist, if sorcs are kill-able and the other two healers are slightly under powered (ops are fine in a good group, they just suck if you solo queue) then it sounds to me like sorcs are (roughly) balanced, mercs need moderate buffs, and operatives may need tweeks so that they can effectively heal through burst without a tank but do not become OP in presence of guard. As someone that solo queues a lot I fully understand that it can be extremely frustrating when you go against a team that has a decent healer and you feel like you are the only one who has an ounce of intelligence on your team, or you're against stacked healers and no one else understands how to cc/swap targets/play strategically, but that is a match making issue, not a balance issue. BigDumbViking Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Op's parents didn't teach manner's apparently.
DomiSotto Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) I always look at the stats in the end of the game, and at the record stats posted. The gap between averages and the best is huge. The gap between the best with coordination and everything else is a nuclear warhead vs spear-wielding hunter-gathers. The best with coordination and the comp vs below average pug is a catastrophic event that leads to mass extinction for a few millenia. I have extensive experience with losing. Based on it, I believe that in this game, save for the brackets with level disparity, there is nothing so overpowered that it can overcome average level of coordination via personal grandeur. Tone down sage healer, and you will be free to complain about the AP-PT magnetic. Edited November 13, 2015 by DomiSotto
