Shayddow Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Ok, in the dream sequence in chapter 2, as final villian- if BH, our character fights Mandalore. If sith, Darth Marr, if trooper, general Garza, and if Jedi, vs Santele shan. Now, I come to fighting Risha's dad - who was offed in chapter 1 of the Smuggler story - I get the thing that we are supposedly fighting vs a role model, but for the BH and Jedi - Shan and Mandalore are still very much alive - and for the Sith - well, we saw Marr "killed" in chapter 1 of kotfe - but for the smuggler - really? I mean, although there is an interesting parallel - the man DID put himself in carbonite for 10 years <as opposed to the outlander being in carbon for 5 - and definitely not self-imposed>. But aside from that, what really is foreshadowing in the other stories for possible inclusion in future installments <i.e. the idea that if you get completely under the "control" of Valkarion, you might end up fighting against the Empire, Mandalore, or the Jedi/Republic <depending on your class> - doesn't really apply here. In the case of the smuggler - the man in question has been dead since the end of chapter 1 of the smuggler class story. So I feel like there is something missing - either a "living role- model" in the original story - as someone whom the smuggler respects - or...something else is off in KOTFE.
DudeinFlames Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 The entire point of the Smuggler's storyline was becoming the next Nok Drayen. That's why he's there. He is your role model. The fact that he's no longer alive doesn't change that. For Valkorion it's supposed to symbolize you overcoming your past and surpassing your role models, living or otherwise.

The fact that he's no longer alive doesn't change that. For Valkorion it's supposed to symbolize you overcoming your past and surpassing your role models, living or otherwise. Not to mention as Valkyorian said the Galaxy is shaped by dead people and Nok Drayen affected the course of the Galaxy with his great influence when he was alive and even still after his death.
OfficerDonNZ Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Also in chapter 3 of the Imperial Agent story you learn a rather interesting fact about Nok Drayen, he was part of the Star Cabal that's been making the IA's life hell. I'm fairly certain it was Nok, looked like him and the same VA.
Shayddow Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 Hmmm. That's a different take on it than I felt when playing thru it. I felt the visions were more of a "foreshadowing" type of sequence - that "this will be the enemy you face" type of thing <similar to the Voss visions in the 1-50 storyline>. Like - a nightmare in the case of the LS Jedi that would have to be forced to kill the grandmaster of the order, and everything s<he> believed in. <particularly if she "gives in" and gives the power over her mind to V - goes all darkside>. So that's why I didn't see a relation to the smuggler story in that. Ah well. Guess we'll have to wait and see. If just a "letting go of the past", yes, I can see that in the smuggler story.
Nerithiel Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 For agent is Jadus which he is offed in chapter 1 aswell but i dont see Master Conspirator's role model to be Jadus lol
AKHadeed Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 For agent is Jadus which he is offed in chapter 1 aswell but i dont see Master Conspirator's role model to be Jadus lol To be fair, Jadus can't actually die at the end of Chapter One. So my tinfoil hat for every antagonist is "JADUS!" He's out there somewhere... And I really hope we see him again.
AshlaBoga Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 To be fair, Jadus can't actually die at the end of Chapter One. "The greatest Sith my Empire ever produced."
Argonloris Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I don't think they are foreshadowing any battle to come but rather showing the players the greatest singular force they have met. Sure the smuggler could have dealt with the voidwolf instead but that guy wasn't really all that powerful. Nok was a powerful man in all respects and held much of the underworld in his pocket at one time or another. The voidwolf was just a pompous imperial with a large fleet that was all to happy to betray him. So I wouldn't call it role models or challenges. This is backed up by the agent challenge since no one the agent faced had a stronger power base than Jadus. The Cabal had a larger power base as a whole but It's a large group (That may not be completely extinguished). Look at it this way. It could have been worse. They could have had everyone face off against the ghost of Malgus.
Shayddow Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 <<Look at it this way. It could have been worse. They could have had everyone face off against the ghost of Malgus>> LOL. Of course, they could have had someone who could REALLY tempt the Republics to go darkside - and face off against Sarresh. If there is anyone that Jedi and Sith would get together to kill.... "Let's get to work. Together."
Axcalion Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 A Battle against Saresh? Unless she's the true body of Valkorion all along, she will die by a single swing of a lightsaber. How is she even going to fight? Slap us with her Lekku?
