LadyVix Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 C'mon Bioware, I thought that being in Texas you guys would have had half a clue on what a sniper rifle is supposed to look like. My tac HUD rifle is fine, but all the rest of the sniper rifles in game, ALL OF THEM, look like they were designed by someone who transferred from Playskool or Fisher Price.

Bahahahahahhshshs lol aaah it is funny but so true some of the weapon designs are so bad.
Tenacity Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Well, to look at things realistically here, none of our sniper rifles can fire over 35 meters in range, so really they're just fancy shotguns =P What I'd like to see is an optional animation/pose for cover, where instead of crouching behind the energy shield you lay down and have a bipod for your weapon, like a proper sniper would.

Such poses exist in the game for NPCs. Go outside the Republic-Hoth Aurek base and you'll see guys using it.

Its a shame really as all of my snipers on all servers use the same one one of the Tuskan or taris one something thatsstarts with a "T"
richiesilva Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Blaster pistols don't look like pistols either. They're not supposed to.
SteveTheCynic Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Blaster pistols don't look like pistols either. They're not supposed to. From the Wikipedia page about blasters: The design of the blaster pistol owned by the fictional character Han Solo was based on the 7.63-caliber Mauser, an early and successful automatic pistol that was used in World War I and World War II.
richiesilva Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 The Mauser doesn't look like a normal pistol either, so.
Anaesha Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 The problem is the star wars franchise is based in a galaxy far FAR away from earth and the tech is centuries beyond what we currently have so to hold weapon designs to the standards of Earth current tech in regards to realistic isn't really a smart thing to do.

Quite a few of the guns in SWTOR actually look like rifles, such as the Primordial guns looking like old school muskets and pirate pistols. Honestly though considering the fact that in SWTOR "Sniper Rifles" can't shoot past 35m which is actually optimal Pistol range, I would rather a "Sniper Rifle" which didn't look like a Barret 50cal Sniper rifle. That's why my Sniper uses a "Sniper Rifle" Bowcaster, looks iconic so it feeds my nerdgasm and better yet it looks less awkward when I roll and run around like a crazy person.

Go away. Leave. When you've persuaded them to make an "Assault Cannon" Bowcaster for my Commando, you can come back.

However I can offer you the solace of a Bowcaster Rifle which your Vangaurd trooper can use.
Jackosaur Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 So the weapons in a game featuring laser swords and space wizards are not realistic enough for you.?
SithKoriandr Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I thought the compact one on the CM was very nice looking.
SteveTheCynic Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Yeah, uhm, not going to happen. However I can offer you the solace of a Bowcaster Rifle which your Vangaurd trooper can use. Doesn't help. He doesn't have that sort of personality. My 65 commando used to(1) wear the BBA Bounty Tracker armour set, until that bustard Arcann plastered her appearance in holograms all over Zakuul. Now she goes about in disguise, but before, it would have been nice to have an AC bowcaster to go with the BBA armour.
