I want to play more as a dps then tank, and im wondering if Vigilance is any good for max lvl pvp, or if im better of playing my sentinal? I feel as a sentinal im really squishy, but idk if thats just me having to learn how to play it better. But does Guardian dps have any place in max lvl pvp or should i go Sentinal?

 

Edit: Might be a stupid question but im just returning and havnt played really since hut expansion

Guardians are more squishy and imo harder to play in PvP, trust me. :>

 

Rebuke, god mode nobody can burst through, stealthing out to class-heal somewhere around the corner, best sustained melee dps, epic dot spread, 6 second cc immunity with saber ward and, of course, epic Transcendence.

Sentinels toolkit gives them better survivability in ranked 4v4. Despite guardians excellent dcds, they're still easily focused down and there's nothing they can do about it. Don't underestimate the power of a vanish and heal. Even focused defence can be nuked through.

 

Objective based pvp is different, guardians really shine there. Awsome in hutball, good node defenders, good survivability, good team support, good 1v1 class, huge aoe damage.

Right now at this present time from what I've seen, generally Guardian potential > Sentinel potential (I have seen some Sentinels play really, really well) in unranked PvP. In ranked PvP, both classes are probably not ideal at the present time. If your server doesn't have people playing "FotM" classes in solo ranked, and you get in to a group with people who know what they're doing, you may do okay. But from my experience, people tend to queue at the same time for solo ranked, leading to them ending up on the same teams, and bypassing the system.

 

I suppose it also didn't help last season when Pubs on Harby would queue up without augments, without unranked gear, or join a match, and then leave right before it begins... (ARRRRRRGH). In team ranked there will obviously be "golden groups" out there, which will be difficult to beat unless you have a really, really great (almost perfect) supporting group.

 

I wonder what 4.1 is going to do for class balance (if anything). I'm kind of excited to see since I still really, really enjoy Vigilance.
