Dabrixmgp Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 If you are going to be bad then you should be punished for it. Someone back pedaling should take triple damage from all sources and they should also deal 1/3 normal damage.
Iona_Var Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 That makes about as much sense as saying if you are being focused by more than 1 person, the people who are focusing you should have their damaged reduced.
Ascensionthree Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 They usually are punished in the form of getting roflstomped every which way that they go, at least most of the time. I just don't want them on my team.

This is like ... Everyone who is travelling by foot in SWTOR should get a debuff that makes him or her travel 3 times more slowly ...
Altheran Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Someone got rekt by a backpedaler, and seek vengeance. (Today I have been "insulted" to be one, but heck the guy was snared and I had the Sent speed on me... did he expect I would get out of shooting range rather than maintaining it as long as possible ? I guess it hurts feelings to be punished by a DoT Commando in arena while playing a burst assassin) Edited November 7, 2015 by Altheran
Lhancelot Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Someone got rekt by a backpedaler, and seek vengeance. Probably a backpedaling forcespeed using sorc!
lpsmash Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 They do get punished for it. Unless you are mad that a backpedalling merc was helped by 5 players and survived with less than 100 hp.
MasterFeign Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) I remember being AFK in the den a long time ago (and before I rekeybinded my S key), so by the time I started to retaliate when my character was being attacked, I was moved backwards among other things, in attempt to escaping getting killed, then I died of course. He went crazy boasting in gen chat, so I put him on ignore, came back and lit him up while making a big show of back pedaling and then killed him then probably just moved on to do something else. I'm never sure why people make such a big deal out of small things... Edited November 7, 2015 by MasterFeign
Banderal Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Are you kidding? I use it as an extra taunt for my tank. Works better than being the one holding the huttball (which sometimes works as an anti taunt).
DarthRaika Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I don't always taunt a tryhard seconds before I 1v1 him, but when i do, I prefer to backpedal.
Dabrixmgp Posted November 8, 2015 Author Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) Unless you are mad that a backpedalling merc was helped by 5 players and survived with less than 100 hp. how did you guess? and every time its always a Merc/Mando Edited November 8, 2015 by Dabrixmgp
DariusCalera Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 So how does the new merc/mando abilities that shoot them 20m back figure into your complaint?
Yorioko Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 there is only 1 way no pvp gear...... never ever do anything, let alone fight. DIE and repeat , THIS is how to mess up and have fun in swtor pvp
MonochromeChris Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I have never used movement keys... I started with the mouse and wasn't aware that you could even use keys for qutie a while. I certainly wasn't aware that moving backwards marks you as a 'noob' in PVP. I'll try that now to confuse the enemy and let them think they can have an easy kill... muah ha ha ha haaaaa (evil Sith laugh of doom!).
gblXsw Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Good news: the devs already put in a punishment for backpedaling: you don't move as quickly!

Back-pedal a bit, wait for them to close in with a greedy grin on their face, then suddenly roll forward past them 20m, with the bombs I drop in the roll rooting them in the meantime. Then unleashing a series of additional roots, slows, and stuns as they haplessly try to get back to me, only to repeat the process all over again.
AlrikFassbauer Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Keys vs. mouse - this is what distinguishes easy to farm Newbies from Professionals.
TUXs Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Buff back-pedal leap for mercs! No **** lol. Not only is it OK for mercs and mandos to back pedal, we have a special freaking ability to make us back pedal better!!!
Jadescythe Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 It should give you a debuff preventing you from re-queuing for warzones. It can only be cleansed by unbinding the key.

You're right back pedaling should receive a debuff.... like maybe a debuff to your speed? ....
jamesaff Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Probably a backpedaling forcespeed using sorc! lol this one makes me gigle
masstershake Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 No **** lol. Not only is it OK for mercs and mandos to back pedal, we have a special freaking ability to make us back pedal better!!! That is a great idea to help mercs! When they backpedal they get a buff to the def stat!
