zalanii Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Or do all the male romancable options for female players just suck terribly? I hate all of them, I like the female characters, they have sarcasm, wit, humour, tend to be better looking Then there's Corso Riggs who I just want to smack across the face until he stops breathing, then steal his clothes and shoot him out the airlock, and then see his dreadlock wearing melted marshmallow face float around in space. Okay, I feel better now. Edited November 7, 2015 by zalanii

Okay, I feel better now. Oh no, it's not just you at all. I'm a straight gal, but I'd much sooner date half the female romance options than the dorks our Lady characters get access to. I play my male juggernaut mostly because he got to romance Vette, and if totally be at least friends with someone like Vette. I could go on, but you said it well enough. This is what happens when boys write all the romance options I suspect. Edited November 7, 2015 by Uruare

This is what happens when boys write all the romance options I suspect. Which is weird because I loved Alistair from DA:O, and Garrus and Thane from ME:2 so very much. DA:2 had no one really...besides Isabella since she was a lot of fun But the pickins for a female player are pretty damn slim, I'd sooner romance Qyzen Fess than Riggs. Lizard men
RWScissors Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Corso Riggs, I know that name ... he's the reason I never made it far with a Smuggler. I get my first comp, five minutes later I delete another. Been playing since launch, I think I once got one to 12 before deleting it.
Razamatazz Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Vector isn't terrible per se, but he can be, weird. Other than him though I avoid romances on the female characters. Doc needs to get the old smuggler kick to the groin . The male romance options do seem a lot better. Except for Jaessa, girl dang near got a restraining order and a force choke, and if she goes near Vette shes getting stationed permanently on Hoth or Quesh naked without stims.

They really need some female and actual LGBT writers over there, I think, then, they'd actually make Talos romanceable for a male character (I would make a male character, just for that alone), and make the whole lesbian Lana romance deeper, deeper than it seems to me, anyway. Makillda Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Except for Jaessa, girl dang near got a restraining order and a force choke, and if she goes near Vette shes getting stationed permanently on Hoth or Quesh naked without stims. Oh hell no. DS Jaesa is delicious. Just don't forget the safety word when she gets rough.
Cnids Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 The only male romance option I like so far is Vector, and that's just because I'm weird. Aside from that, they all suck. I prefer to do straight romances, but I went for Lana on my Inquisitor because she was leagues ahead of stupid Andronikos. The other thing I noticed is that there aren't a lot of "abuse of power" relationships if you play as a female character. Like, look how many female apprentices or direct subordinates (or an outright slave/prisoner in Vette) you get to romance if you play as a male character. Here's just the Force-sensitive classes: Knight: Kira's your Padawan (romanceable) Warrior: Jaesa's your apprentice (romanceable) Consular: Nadia is your Padawan (romanceable) Inquisitor: Ashara is sort of your apprentice (romanceable)... and the romance for your actual apprentice (Xalek) is conspicuously missing - probably because he's male. So every male Force-sensitive class character gets to have a romance with their "student", and there's bupkis for female Force-sensitives.

Okay, I feel better now. It's his face. Seriously, I don't know why, but his face just seems so... "punchable". As soon as I slapped a customization on him he instantly became more tolorable. http://static.swtor-spy.com/img/guides/2011/12/Swtor_Corso_Riggs_Customization_2.jpg And while some white guys (Rob Zombie) can definitely pull off dreadlocks and look good. Corso, just ain't one of them. Edited November 7, 2015 by ZanyaCross
Myracarrah Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Original Romances Torian - Mando good boy Jailbait Vector - Well if you are into group sports, he's the nerd for you Andronikas - Sure he's creepy, but he only wants to park his motorcycle on your front lawn and watch your house while you are sleeping Talos - Only if I had 'Daddy' issues Quinn - Because nothing says 'I love you' like stabbing you in the back Pierce - He's a good time boy, enjoy it while it lasts because it will never matter Aric - Because a bitter militant with claws was a good idea Doc - He wants you and your padawan and that Green Peace Girl and pretty much anyone under the age of Garza Theran - Holiday watches you while he tells you how great he is Corso - Just like Torian but without the personality New Romances Lana - She's more Jedi than most Jedi, but atleast she can hold a conversation Theron - Bitter jaded sarcastic introvert with a celebrity Mom Koth - He loves you for your mind (or whom-ever is in it) Senya - Haven't tried her yet so no opinion Edited November 8, 2015 by Myracarrah
Mystyrys Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Vector. The best. So romantic and poetic. And the love letters. The best. The one you get from him in KotFE is just heartbreaking. More like Vector please.
Kheldryn Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Honestly I think their choices were pretty bad for a few.. Mind I have a twisted sense of humor.. I wanted my smuggler to hook up with the walking carpet.. er.. Bowdarr, my sorc to hook up with Khem.. ok.. jk.. No real options for a Sorc, Quinn.. no.. Vector.. no.. Drelik.. no, my Trooper went with her XO, but then, he's a Cathar, she's a Cathar.. only seemed right, and my Jedi, well.. she's a Jedi thru and thru.. no attachments. The rest are all male so I went with Vette for my Jug, My BH went with Mako, My agent went with Caliyo, yeah she's nuts, but in a good way, My Shadow went with..*cough* Theran Shan, yes.. I said rest of my characters are GUYS, funnier is, my Shadow is a cathar. My Sage is with his apprentice... or single.. I forget. My Sin flirts with anything with 2 legs, My other characters (20 in all) are undecided.
Alkuzar Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) New Romances Lana - She's more Jedi than most Jedi, but atleast she can hold a conversation Theran - Bitter jaded sarcastic introvert with a celebrity Mom Koth - He loves you for your mind (or whom-ever is in it) Senya - Haven't tried her yet so no opinion How are you able to romance these? You get no conversations with them when your done with the chapters, and you don't unlock any new ones when upping there influence. Edited November 7, 2015 by Alkuzar
Damask_Rose Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) I feel exactly the opposite. The male companions, for the most part, are great looking and have fantastic voices, though some need the right customization, and their romances are more fun. Off course I do wish for others as well. Love me some Talos, Scourge and Zenith! Most of the female companions are great as friends, but their romances bite the big one. (And they pretty much all have very generic looks.) Kira, Mako & Nadia are the worst offenders. They are just ick. Kaliyo is a horror anyway you look at her. Temple is dull. Jessa is loonytoons. The rest are ok. Vette's was the only one I really enjoyed. Edited November 7, 2015 by Damask_Rose
Jeweledleah Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 to each their own. the only male LI I actively disliked was Doc, cause I found him creepy. several I actualy very much enjoyed. meanwhile a friend of mine, who is usually pretty sensitive to certain undertones- loves Doc, cause he reminds her of a character from M.A.S.H. heck - the only male LI in DA2 that I didn't actively want to slap upside the head was Sebastian (liked Fenris at first, but by chapter 3, he annoyed me almost as much as Anders). but I know of plenty of people who are the direct opposite of me, I also know plenty of people who enjoyed Sebastian far more then I have, and I know of people everywhere in between these two extremes. I'm.I'm sorry, OP, that available options are not working out for you. however.. IMO its mostly a matter of taste.

Corso, just ain't one of them. ha! that's the same customization I use as well prefer it to his original appearance (I also use this customization for Torian.. just.. no offense to anyone that likes his original style of hair and I do know people who like it - it just... doesn't work for me)
XiamaraSimi Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Bioware is -very- hit and miss with their romances for female characters. Baldurs Gate 2 - Anomen Delryn... thank all the deities in the universe for player made romanceable NPCs... terrible doesnt even begin to describe the train wreck that is Anomen Delryn... Dragon Age Origins - Alistair - Ok, I admit, I loved Alistair, his voice actor made him adorable. Zevran - Nope, Antonio Banderas sounding " I will sleep with -anyone-" elf. Nope Nope Nope Leliana - Nope, not a lesbian, pass. Dragon Age 2 - Anders, nope, he was Alistairs voice with a robe and Duncans hair, too jarring to me, plus ge blew up a tower full of people. Nope. Fenris - Yep, loved that moody elf. Isabella, Again, not a lesbian. Sebastian - Swore an oath of celibacy, nice troll there Bioware... Dragon Age Inquisition - Cullen, loved Cullen, he was Adorable. Sera, Not a lesbian. Blackwall, Urgh that beard... Solas, some men pull off bald well, but bioware tends to make their elves UGly, and yeah, he fell victim of it... Iron Bull, my mage loved him, he was hysterical (and Cullen doesnt dig qunari mage girls lol) Mass Effect 1 - Kaiden, ugh. Move along. Liara, sigh again with the lesbian thing. Pass. Mass Effect 2 - Garrus Vakarian, oh yes yes yess, loved that kitty-bird-lizardman to bits. Thane, he was a frog-snakeman, just couldnt get into him. Jacob, his face had weird bumps all over the area facial hair would grow in, looks like he had a crapton of ingrown hairs... ewww. Mass Effect 3 - Garrus, yay! MOAR Garrus! Kaiden, still nope! Umm, forget if there were any more romanceable males for females but they sure made sure to throw in lots of bisexual females... SWTOR Andronikos, nope, scrawny mike tyson... ugh. Quinn, loved quinn, great voice and nice looking model. Fun romance. Vector, same as quinn Torian, ugh Bieber hair... Doc, smarmy ladies man, pass. Lt. Iresso, sorry, boring, zzzzz Jorgan, grumpy cat man. Cat man part was fine, the grumpy not. Corso, not much into bumpkins... Theron, like theron, nice voice, nice model. Lana, nope, still not a lesbian! Koth, nope hes a jerk. Take your "I dont care V killed billions of your people because they werent my people" attitude and stuff it where the sun doesnt shine. Edited November 8, 2015 by XiamaraSimi
Sallysassalot Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Yeah, the female characters really don't great choices. It doesn't help that about half the male characters get 2 full fledged romance options and all the female characters only get 1. Female consulars can have a one night stand with Theran who then dumps them for Holiday. And they can also have a out of nowhere one night stand with Pierce. And then they just never reference it again, and if you have romanced Quinn he doesn't notice either. Really dumb. There are a lot of other companions who could've been romance options for female characters...I really don't get why Bioware decided to just stick with one actual option per class. Like Zenith would've been a perfect option for a DS consular. Pierce would've been awesome to have a full romance with. Just a lot of missed opportunities :/
Myracarrah Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Alkuzar Lana and Theron you get cuddly with during SOR, they send you love letters when you are supposedly missing. You bump into them again and basically get to say 'Let's pick up where we left off'. I think that counts as a romantic companion. Senya and Koth remain to be seen beyond flirting at this point. Edited November 8, 2015 by Myracarrah

serenitty Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I don't know, I like a few of them. Doc, Quinn, Vector and Andronikos. The others are ok but nothing special and now Theron who is making it hard to stay faithful to the four I mentioned. @The poster a few posts up you can lock in a romance with Koth, tested him out on my freebie.
