Hi,

I want to ask a few questions about SWTOR:

1. What can I do in game outside following the story and quests? I hear something about flashpoints, warzones, strongholds etc. Can You explain this to me in few words and give some pros and cons?

2. How I can change appearance of my companions? Did other players see armor of my companion and color of this armor? What is the difference between colored armor with dye and customization?

1. Strongholds are your own home, you can decorate them with many items including gtn, banks, mail box etc to make life so much easier. You can also access your ship right from your home. Warzones are pvp oriented "games" were you as a group work towards and objective while fighting off the opposite faction. Flashpoints are this games versions of instances that you can do with other players.

2. Yes you can change how your companion looks gear wise and other players will see your customization. As for dye, you can dye your gear to whatever colour you want pretty much.

Hope this helps :)

Simple enough questions but they will take lengthy answers.

Flashpoints and warzones have icons located on your mini map in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.

Flashpoints is PVE group content. You just click on the group finder and select which flashpoints you want to queue for. By default they are all turned on. You will be leveled synced appropriately to complete it, but your gear may still not be up to par so boss fights may still give you trouble.

PVP space combat is also an icon on your mini map. This is all but dead on my server, so if you queue this up I don't know if the queue will pop on your server for you or not. But this is a pay to win system. You will go in with a starter ship that has about as much chance of surviving or even taking another player out as a snow ball surviving in hades.

PVP warzones also queue from the mini map. There is 4 man team events and there is 8 man team events. You have no say in which you will queue up for. When you queue it tends to be random pop. PVP can be quite brutal for the unprepared. I would suggest queuing up for one, and then seeing if anybody will educate you on all the end and outs within the group you queue up with. Some PVP players are jerks, but most will go out of their way to educate you if you show a desire to take their advice.

To access quests, all flashpoints have their individual quest giver or terminal. And many of these activate automatically when you start the flashpoint.

Space and normal PVP quests you have to access from a PVP terminal. These are located at the fleet and in PVP warzones.

It is a good thing to join a good guild.

Then you can tag along with all the content they do and learn how fun this game can be doing flashpoints and later on operations.

There are two main ways of changing the appearance of your companions. In 4.0, companions stats are no longer based on the armor they wear so the armor is now just cosmetic.

a) Some companions still have slots for regular armor. You can use any armor that fits. You can change the armor color by using dyes, particularly on the chest piece which can be used as the base colours for the whole outfit. (just like a player's armor)

b) Some companions "looks" were never based upon their armor - for example, Treek and Bowdaar, etc - and their armor slots have been removeed. You change their appearance by using Companion Customizations which you can buy from vendors, etc.

Other players will see your companions as you see them.

Just to elaborate, the characters that do still wear armor can have their appearance changed with customizations, too. This will change how the actual companion looks (hair color/style, skin color, scars, jewelery, etc.), not what his/her armor looks like.
