arunav Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Was hoping other players who have use a Gunslinger could answer: Penetrating rounds (part of the main rotation for Sharpshooter) has been orange in color since 3.0. In the past, it used to keep the color of whatever crystal you equipped. I assumed it would finally get fixed in 4.0, but have found it is still orange. Some may think it's not really an issue, but imagine if your lightsaber changed color whenever you used one of your main abilities. It would be quite distracting and noticeable. So my question is whether BW has ever acknowledged this as a bug, or decided it didn't really matter after 3.0? My workaround has been to use a Copper color crystal, but I really wish this would be fixed. The animation bug for the Sniper equivalent was fixed months ago, so I'm not sure I understand why this never was. Edited November 5, 2015 by arunav
Hathur Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Agreed it's a bit annoying, especially since the ability it replaces (speed shot) keeps your blaster color crystal. It's not the only skill that does this though, there's a skill in dirty fighting line (Forgot the name) that makes your blaster bolts green for some reason.

As far as I can tell, my Sniper does not have a problem of this kind. It seems kind of unfair that the Republic AC doesn't get fixed. I know there are a lot of big bugs that came out with 4.0, but I would hope this one would be an easier fix. It's also directly tied to CM/cosmetic stuff, as color crystals are an important customization route for most players. It completely kills this aspect of your character when your blasters change to orange.
CloudCastle Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I've been hoping for the last year that they would fix this. It's a small change, sure, but color crystals are fun for a reason. What's the point if some of your skills don't use them? I didn't realize that snipers didn't have this problem. That makes it even more unfair!

What's the point if some of your skills don't use them? I didn't realize that snipers didn't have this problem. That makes it even more unfair! Its one skill. There are hundreds of more important bugs. There have been visual bugs with just about every class since the game came out.

It makes sense - it's some sort of special ammunition after all, same way Ambush is. Just don't ask me how it works
LoverNoFighter Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 OP, I agree. I hope this issue will get fixed as it's very annyoing. It kind of makes the point of having a colour crystal moot. It used to work fine before so I have total faith in the devs making it right again.

And the Operative's (maybe Agent's) cone ability does the exact same thing. Its annoying when I want to test out a color crystal, but I imagine not as much as your issue. Mine is hardly visible, since I only ever use it in melee range.
