I've searched through the forums and have read what is allowed/grey areas on macros etc.

Post I've searched about macros below:

EDIT: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=6459925&postcount=205

(Case 4 I believe would apply to me)

Allow me to explain why I'm posting this first: A few years ago I was in a car accident leaving my left hand moderately damaged I.E movement is limited and using modifiers like shift and alt are all but impossible for me.

So onto my question is it possible to make for lack a a better term a cast sequence macro like I have on other MMO's which I leave leave nameless for the moment.

An example would be pressing key "1" on my keyboard to use 1 skill then if I press it again within a allotted time frame that it would cast a different skill.

A couple of examples would be as follows:

/castsequence reset=6 <insert skill 1 name>, <insert skill 2 name>

This macro takes into account the time from the first press and uses the ability (by name) according to those conditions.

From a different MMO and example follows:

/bind "+TrayExec 3 1 $$ +Tray Exec 3 0 $$"

This macro just uses different abilites dependant on the bars of the game not taking into account any time frame but still alleviated some of the problems I have.

If anyone knows of a way I can do this (I have razer software but all I can see it's use is for automation, I.E pressing 2 keys at once which is not what I'm after and understand is against the Terms of Service)

I'm not looking for full automation by any means, If anyone knows how i can do this or even use another programs to do it ( not to Automate) i would greatly appreciate it, and thank anyone for taking the time to reply!

As far as I know, what you want to do isn't 'legal' in SWTOR.

If there are a lot of ctrl/alt/shift combos that you want to use, I would suggest instead, that you get a keyboard with a good number of programmable keys. For example, I use a Logitech G19 that has 12 "G-keys" that can be programmed to things like ctrl-[key], etc (or macros too). You'd have to have a separate key for each skill, but it would be legal.

Personally, I just use the mouse to 'click' on the skills*, which works fine in PvE (especially since most skills can't be used while moving.)

* I also use the mouse to move and steer, but in some situations I do use my left hand and keys to move while clicking on skills.

Note - if you try to use the mouse to click on skills, it helps to spend some time adjusting the mouse speed and skill bar size and location, to balance quick access with low overshoot. (So that when you quickly try to click on a skill you don't overshoot and click a nearby one instead.)

my understanding of this post from a Bioware employee makes me think otherwise hence why I posted this thread although I just know of no way to implement the actual macro.

BW Thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=6459925&postcount=205

I see what your saying about mouse presses but every game I've played I use the keyboard for abilities and use the naga number pad for utility abilities, E.G on a warrior i have my naga buttons set for enraged defence/ saber ward/ and dashes.

And generally I use the mouse for turning as on most MMO games it's the only way to be competitive.

Lastly I thank you for your reply and hope you or someone else maybe able to help me further.

And lock the skillbar!

Very good tip! I've dragged a skill from my hotbar on more than one occaision and usually at the worst possible moment lol :o

Yes, it does seem from that link that what you want to do is allowed.

But, I have no idea what macro system supports it.

And lock the skillbar!

Where's your sense of adventure! :D

thanks for the replies guys, I'm still looking for any way to make such macros / key binds

A friendly reminder of the "Rules of Conduct"

You may not use macros, add-ons or other stored rapid keystrokes, "dupes," "cheats" or other patterns of play that facilitate acquisition of items, currency, objects, character attributes, rank or status at an accelerated rate.

It is not a good thing to use macros

please read my post from earlier what I'm after is a macro/cast sequence that allows me to use one ability per key stroke as the post I linked earlier (post 3), thanks for the reply though but from what I've gathered it's totally legal by Bioware.

EDIT: I've now updated the first post with the link I found about macros from a Bioware Employee.

anyone able to help with this I'm getting to a point where i have too many abilities for the movement in my hand?

TLDR can i bind to skills to 1 button or 2 button presses to 1 button (although I think the latter would be against the ToS)

thanks for the quick reply - the problem I have which I did try mention in the first post is some years ago my hand was damaged in an accident and I don't have full mobility, I have however already rebound Q+E+R+F but using shift and alt isn't really possible for me.

Again thanks for the reply though it's much appreciated =)

Ah, I'm sorry. Missed that part. Well, not sure if this will be helpful, but try googling "gaming keypad". Fully programmable, a couple different ergonomic options. Razer Tartarus would be my choice for you because the wrist rest is adjustable, therefore its the most likely candidate when it comes to conforming to your needs. It is also programmable in the way that you seek. Razer Synapses is a beautiful program XD

maybe this would be the answer, seems strange that from other MMo's I play macros are fully enabled but still limit the way their useable (unable to check conditions etc) but anyway thanks very much for the reply!

I remember reading that DEV post when it was posted, there were alot of questions regarding macros back then.

I understand now what you are asking for and I must say that I do not know how to do it.
