XatoriSadu Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) In patch 4.0.1.A they have removed the ability in servers to travel as a republic player to Korriban, same goes for Empire player's trying to go to Tython. The excuse is for adding major defensive NPC's to homeworld planets. This for one takes away from the immersion of PVP having the freedom of choice to invade the opposing factions planets. Even if they buffed the planets defense's, that's still taking away the freedom of players to go to other planets to embrace exploration and pvp. I formally request that Bioware adds this feature back into the game, feel free to voice your opinion's below. Edited November 4, 2015 by XatoriSadu
sithBracer Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 It was a bug, not a feature. And I think it is because it is bad for attracting new players having them constantly die on a starter planet to level 65 gankers.
AndriusAjax Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) I wholeheartedly agree. I love world pvp. At first I hated the notion of planet sync and I felt it would damage the integrity of world pvp. Having played with it now, I feel max level and higher lvl toons scaled down, still have an advantage over lower level tools scaled up. Its just not quite as lopsided as it was. With that said, planet sync allows for massive world pvp with no limits on level, depending on the planet. Therefore, the starter planets make for the most open world pvp. Moreover, you don't gain auto pvp flag on pvp servers until further along in the game, so level 1-10 have an opt-in opportunity to participate. But the thing to emphasize here is that lvl 1 through 10 can participate in world pvp! People can say what they want about wpvp being dead in swtor. Largely a result of the pvp server populations, it may be perceived to be nonexistent. But on the smallest pop server there is, Pot5, we have had quite large world pvp events. One is actually scheduled today. We have had over 20 people on each side at nearly every event we've had. So wpvp could be something... and exposing fresh off the boaters to it, on an opt-in basis, may be a good thing. [i think having only 1 pvp server would help a LOT]. I am absolutely for wpvp on starter planets. Most fun ive had in a while. They just need to make the quest giving NPCs unattackable though... Edited November 4, 2015 by AndriusAjax

NikSunrider Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Document a bug, and it becomes a feature! Standard programmer's ethos. To be honest, I loved it. yes, the first thing I did was kill everything in sight, then I felt like a [insert bad word here because I'm tired of getting warnings] so I hopped onto a lowbie (lvl 15 for Korriban) toon and started joining in the fun! No-one complained, and we even handed out stims to people to make it more fun. I agree, I hope an improved version of this gets added. And here's a thouhgt: if you don't wanna PVP, don't toggle on the flag.
XatoriSadu Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 See, I'm new and I thought it was a feature. It made open world pvp much more entertaining. When I first started on tython as a jedi, there was sith outside the temple, none of them could kill me because I was unflagged, but once I flagged myself I had a blast, having a failed attempt to kill the sith infiltrators. Bioware, please read this and make that bug into a feature please.
