Ouardajason Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Yes I do, because I m not a dramatic bottom feeder ,,,or am I? with the new system I don't need to wait patiently for some random no one in a empty world to do my heroics! Now each world I visit is over stocked with players who are forced to be there! oh the agony of not being alone again. Edited November 2, 2015 by Ouardajason
DataBeaver Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Mostly. The only thing so far which I definitely dislike is the "classic conversations". My own character being mute disrupts the experience for me. I'm also not a fan of the excessive easiness, but I can live with that.
papragu Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 It is not as bad as many say, as mentioned i like the fact that we don't have to wait forever just to find somebody to do Heroics. It has too many cutscenes for m taste tho, there are more cutscenes than actual gameplay and lots of small bugs.
Satanski Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I really like cutscenes and hate difficulty nerf. The rest is meh.
fdbgjfdhjgkjdhsg Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I enjoy it. I prefer cutscenes than fighting waves of trash mobs.
Laurreth Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 No I don't because I think all it does is discard everything that made SWOR something of a shared experience, and instead tries to make it a mediocre linear singleplayer point&click adventure with a hefty monthly subscription fee. I was alright with the game being a mediocre MMO with a subscription fee, and I'd be alright with a 20–30€ standalone singleplayer episodic release, but I am not willing to participate in this business model.
Eillack Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) It's meh. I'd give it a 4/10. Edited November 2, 2015 by Eillack
Djiini Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Yes. 8/10. Edited November 2, 2015 by Djiini
CelCawdro Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I like the focus and direction it gives the game moreso than the actual content. I guess my ultimate judgement of this expansion will be based on where it leads to in the future.
Hathur Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) The story content from Chapter 1-9 was more enjoyable than all the class stories combined of classic swtor. This is what I expected / wanted in terms of production values / story telling for a Kotor 3 (I never wanted the mmo, I merely tolerated it because it was the closest I could get). The story, characters and production values have vastly exceeded my expectations, I am very pleased. I have nothing meaningful to offer regarding gameplay issues, as it was no easier or harder than kotor 1 & 2 for me (I found those games very easy even on the highest setting... swtor is also very easy.. but I'm fine with that, I'm not particularly looking for a great challenge with a narrative game). Though I certainly understand others issues with the game's lack of challenge (I wouldn't oppose harder combat, but I wouldn't ask for it either). Edited November 2, 2015 by Hathur

Imperial Agent, and Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior if you're into those classes conceptually, are definitely better stories at this point. Some of the middling/poor stories, sure, but this story has not yet superceded the best of what class stories had to offer, let alone all of them.

I am a BIG fan of sith warrior story, but How KOTFE tells the story is much better than how we go through our class story. Now if our Sith warrior story flowed like KOTFE story. I would be giddy like a school girl.

Imperial Agent, and Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior if you're into those classes conceptually, are definitely better stories at this point. Same goes for a few of the Rep stories. I loved Consular and Knight. If you squint a bit, they're pretty coherent and work out in the end. In comparison, KotFE goes complete and literal Deus Ex Machina by the time it hits chapter 4 and seems very much like fanfic they found on the internet. I haven't played any of the Mass Effect games, but if they are anything like it (something that Bioware say a lot), I'm not sure I'd want to. Let's just hope they paid someone to write an end this time.
LordArtemis Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 As it is with most major changes to the game from the past, I both love it and hate it (or more accurately love some aspects, hate others).
Storm-Cutter Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Finished new chapters twice- and might stand it just one more time, to make a few different choices - But no way I'm doing it with all 16 of my top-level characters. - I'm done with dailies and I'm only doing choice heroics to finish the Hero of the Republic / Hero of the Empire achievements. The easy- mode is laughably easy- so there seems little point in grinding for BiS gear anymore - My old 198s (and even 192s) seen to be more than enough to faceroll anything new, which is pretty thin. So back to PvP once I've done all the alerts. A fortnight to do twice everything they spent 6-8 months developing -(several man-years) and I wasn't exactly hurrying, just 2-3 hours per day. Please wake me up when something interesting happens. THX.
Quraswren Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 For the most part it's a OK expansion. There are cravats that I ended up not liking as much as I would have hoped: The good short story where choices really didn't matter at all no matter how much BW hyped that. A 10K affection grind turned into a 250K affection grind with a new name because apparently, the first time you grinded it, it wasn't "grindy" enough. Down leveling to rehash 4 year old content to support the above massive grind. No new end game group content except one easily done H2+ You leveled up to get back things BW took from you making leveling kinda stupid and pointless. It's a decent expansion but nothing incredibly impressive.

Got through the story twice, started the Alliance stuff . . . and ended-up 1 week later exactly where you just posted.
RagnarAugustus Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I'm really enjoying it, I have some gripes about the crafting revisions and some other nit picky issues that have been hammered to death here on the forums, but overall I'm enjoying KOTFE and 4.0.
TUXs Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I think the story was exceptional. Not one of the original 8 class quests sucked me in like KOTFE did. Some of the changes I really like...some I dislike...most I'm just trying to get my head around.
ryoutou Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I think the story, the characters, the aesthetics, all top notch. Fun, simple as that. Too easy. But that is the simplest thing to tweak. You can shift difficulty with some numbers adjustments. You can't tweak soul into a game, it either has it or it doesn't - and KOTFE has it, in my opinion.
DomiSotto Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Played first 7 chapters on my Vanguard to level to 65. Saw some good companion banter, nice reuse of the old companions. But for me the game fell to the same trap that every other game I played before SWTOR. The Mainchar now has the most boring personality of the lot. The 8 class stories used to rectify it nicely, giving each protagonist its own voice and attitude, but now everyone is the same. And my Vanguard felt really awkward in the Jedi shoes he seemed to be forced into. So, the game's storytelling lost its uniqueness, seemingly irrevocably. And, yeah, I've played it in 162 Arkanum set auged for power.... lol. Edited November 2, 2015 by DomiSotto

It's just not holding up to multiple playthroughs, just as Rishi and Yavin didn't. I'd add that I like not having to gear companions anymore and that I can apply cosmetic gear to ( most of ) them. What I don't like is that all the companions are now generic clones with a different skin. Any personality they had has been stripped away. Edited November 2, 2015 by GoldenHornet
curulz Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Story was pretty good, a little predictable in some places but good flow overall. Post story seems a bit grindy, intentional I'm sure, but there are ways to cut it down. I'm glad they made the crates BTL and available for crystal purchase, finally something to spend those on. I've like the ops changes for the most part, some of the mechanic changes took out some of the flavor, but having all ops give tangible rewards is pretty sweet. Overall I'm probably 8/10
LordArtemis Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I give it a 6.5 out of 10. Some of the aspects of the expansion pull the score down significantly. That said, this is my opinion of the things I loved about the expansion.
