Lynnx Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Before 4.0 I was able to make huge money selling mats. Now, the same mats cost almost nothing on the GTN. Mats that I used to sell for 1500 credits are now as cheap as 30. Do people hate crafting now?
Bobs_YourUncle Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 adaptive circuitry went up from 25k avg to 40k avg on harbinger. Out of four mats I sold regularly, midthe crystals and immune regulators (I think), have went down a good bit, but still 10 and 15k each respectively (profitable). I haven't gathered any doonium, the fourth, to see how its doing yet. Adaptive Circuitry is killing it though, and now all your companions crit on slicing some. Couple that with being able to do the rich and bountiful mats mission every time and its only 30 minutes instead of an hour, and you can make a huge amount still. I think crafting has gotten a lot more going for them now than before 4.0, new tier levels, reusable stims removed, ability to craft ops gear. Whats likely happening is the new market changes to gathering etc. is causing an influx of product to most mats, thus resulting in a lower point of undercutting for the demand. At worst, after things settle down a bit, we'll see mats generally cheaper than before, but still very profitable selling them.
DreadtechSavant Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 basically yes. player do still craft but personally I see little point in it now. Any items you can craft yourself is not as good as items you pick up. there are still a few exceptions but as so many players now have the crafts because BW made every instant level 60's have one of the two crafts that made them, which are augments kits and slots there just so many around now The only thing I make is the bond items now to sell but they don't get all that much, but for the most part I no longer craft at all, just so pointless now. Biochem is worth making stims for your own characters and alts not sure about selling them as I never have. This is a craft I only have on about 5 characters out of 200+ I guess other players can tell you if they are worth selling.

Shwarzchild Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 This surprises me. I'm killing it selling augments, mk8 kits, and barrels. The materials that you should be selling if you want to sell mats are dark matter crystals, exotic stabilizers, and strategic energy matrices. Crafting is far from dead. Just need to move to where the market went.

ForceWelder Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Mind you, I've only just gotten back into the crafting frame of mind in the past 4 - 5 days, but this is what I'm seeing on the GTN on POT5 now. Prices for most items have dropped like a rock. Decorations can still bring in a nice pay day as well as some player equipment. But when it comes to crafting materials anything outside of purple quality he can't hardly give away. The blue level crafting items you get while leveling Diplomacy I would consider myself lucky if I broke even on them when you factor in the cost of the missions. My point is that it just isn't the crafting resources that have dropped in price. it is across the board. And I am not even sure if the final crafted product will even sale. Because one thing that should be obvious is that the cartel market has flooded the GTN with legacy based equipment and the need to craft player equipment is almost non-existent. Plus with the changes to companions (not needing gear) and the changes to leveling, having sufficient crystals to deck you toon out every 4 levels isn't an issue any more. The only thing you need to craft is consumables, as well as the relics, earpiece, and implants. That is basically it. And to be honest there is not stress for this either while leveling. Because as a leveling player, you still going to do poorly in PVP and flahspoints and in solo mode, your companion can now out perform even you. In the last three days I did 4 pug flashpoints. And out of those four, not a single player other than myself had bio or scavenging skill. Maybe these days everybody is doing slicing or doing mission crew skills to gain the companion items and calling it a day.
imissleeches Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Three words: Augments Adaptive Circuitry
Tenacity Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Biochem mats are still selling for a decent amount as well, I've noticed. Adaptive circuitry still tops everything for profit though. Of course, Yavin 4 is still a slicing hotspot for credit farming.
