morrisbober Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I've been playing some max-level characters since 4.0 came out. Leveling from 60-65 was way too fast for my taste (not to mention leveling meant almost nothing with no skills to train, even upgraded versions of old skills) but I just rolled with it. I decided to log into a lower-level alt and run a FP. I leveled twice, and was 80% to the next level, by the time we hit the first boss. I dropped out, because I didn't want to out-level my class missions and my gear. This is just ridiculous. I know for a lot of people the game is a race to get to max level, but the game from 1-64 is now non-existent for me. I think I'm going to unsubscribe and maybe check in when the next patch comes out, but this has taken all of the fun out of the game for me.
VanorDM Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 because I didn't want to out-level my class missions and my gear. With level sync you actually can't do that. Worse case is you'll be at level cap for a bunch of planets, but you can not actually out level any missions. You may out level your gear... But that doesn't really matter, since your gear should still be plenty good for the planet you're on. With how fast you make comms, no one should ever have an issue keeping upto date with gear either. Myself I skipped a mod level range twice or three times leveling up my smuggler and never once struggled due to lack of gear. That all said, they once had something that turned off 12xp and putting that back in the game wouldn't be all bad. But even with that you're still going to advance faster than before because you'll always be earning XP.

Yes, a level 65 capped player can play through the Tython quests and they'll be brought back to 'reasonable'level for the planet, but while they still outclass the missions significantly. There is no effort required if you outlevel the content, even though your level is brought down to reasonable. So, Yes the content is always 'relevant' in that you can get experience (as long as you aren't capped) and the enemies will at least be 'green' to you. But its hardly relevant in terms of a feeling of challenge and the subsequent feeling of accomplishment when you have completed it for many players.
VanorDM Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 There is no effort required if you outlevel the content, even though your level is brought down to reasonable. Sure, but you're still able to do it, and even prior to 12xp it wasn't that hard to end up higher level than the planet was. I have a Sith Warrior I was playing the last time I was here, around the Rise of the Hutt Cartel era. She's lvl 48 on Voss, and I'm maybe halfway done. I did maybe a FP or two with her and some of the PvE spaceship stuff. So while it may happen faster or easier now, it was pretty much always a matter that you would be over leveled for some planets if you did all the quests and bonus series. Even back in the days of 1.0 my Jedi was lvl 50 before getting to Corelia. But its hardly relevant in terms of a feeling of challenge and the subsequent feeling of accomplishment when you have completed it for many players. Which is why I said I'd like to see them bring back the device that turns off 12xp. But I did not get the impression from the OP that challenge was the real issue here.

Man it is not about the levels anymore this is barely an mmo man. Just enjoy the stories and the companions, want a level grinder go to a Korean mmo.
