So I restarted my character from scratch in 4.0, to experience all the changes from the beginning...and one of the best changes has been that companion conversations are triggered by where you are at in the story, and not also with affection/influence.

 

It really adds a lot to the story and your companions...especially the ones that usually go unused. Where before, I never even got to experience the conversations.

 

Hell, it even brings life to Rusk.

 

So thank you for this change.

Not quite as good as you might think.

 

If you had a choice of picking what you wanted in conversations or picking what your companion likes, if you pick what you want, you get 550 influence.....if you pick what the companion likes, you will get like 1000-2000 influence, its safe to say players that want to max out the companion influences will still pick what the companions like.

 

It would be a good system if you got the same points regardless, sadly that is not the case.
