dvrocc Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I remember 1980 - 85 Halloween we had tons of Valley Girl costumes I mean every other girl was in that costume it seems like and where i lived in Northern California the streets were packed with kids, a few other costumes i faintly recall was a PacMan or Maybe it was a Muppet costume it has been 30+ years. Now i hardly seen any one out for Halloween any more.
XiamaraSimi Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) One year i didnt have a cotume idea for halloween, my mom dressed me up as Elvira... I was 12 lol I had unique parents (grew up watching Cheech & Chong movies, mom also took me to a casted midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show when i was 13) Edited November 5, 2015 by XiamaraSimi
SithKoriandr Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I moved from San Diego, where people seemed to always dress up, to a place that except for the last two years, has just been frickin cold during halloween! So, I was never sure if people not dressing up was because of weather (halloween costumes just aren't made for 35 degree weather) or people just not going trick or treat anymore. Smaller town as well. This year I did see quite a few people in costume though, kids about, but I was in a slighter bigger smaller town this year. The costumes don't seem much different. Whatever's popular with kids, that's the popular costume
SlightlySychotic Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Didn't have a lot of trick-or-treaters this year but I did have one group of kids dressed up like 80s slasher villains: Jason Vorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers. I couldn't help but think, "Do you kids actually know who these characters are, have you seen the movies, or did your parents just pick them out?"
