So I've been looking around and no ones asked this question. To make a MK-8 Augment Slot Thingamabob, do you reverse engineer Grade 8 stuff or do you have to start from Grade 1? I hope that's clear enough.

The most efficient method for creating MK kits is through crafting and reverse engineering 'assembly' items.

 

Each crafting skill makes an 'assembly' item with their respective gathered materials, for example biochem makes an "Anodyne Cell Graft" assembly item using grade 8 bioanalysis materials.

 

Each assembly can be reverse engineered for MK parts, used to craft MK kits (slots).

 

Assembly items stack, and can be reverse engineered for MK parts in stacks.

 

Armstech, armormech, and synthweaving can all craft MK kits using the MK parts.
