zafrina Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (This post is addressed to Bioware but if you have played KOTFE and seen a different outcome than I have, I would be happy hear about it) Dear Bioware, I know that you are capable of creating characters with great depth and personality because I have played everything from KOTOR to the Mass Effect franchise and all of the Dragon Age games. You made Alistair, Morrigan, Varric, Cullen, Garric, Liara and so many other characters that felt real and formed real emotional connections with the player that it inspired thousands of people to even write fanfiction about these connections. That has not translated to SWTOR or to the expansion KOTFE...not yet anyway. I LOVE the story in KOTFE, I do. I found it engrossing and a serious improvement on what's come before (even though the Imp agent story was awesome). But the romance options have been lacking and the KOTFE expansion did not deliver anything better; in fact it has restricted our choices to hardly anything at all. I'm playing through KOTFE for the 2nd time on my dark side character (the 1st time was light side) and I'm especially noticing a lack of meaningful romance options for a dark side player and what I mean by that is having a romance option who complements (not compliments) my dark side jedi (or really any dark side character), someone who would relish in my dark side choices, or someone truly dangerous who would be a match me. Someone who could walk the dark side with me as an equal partner. There is a full spectrum of darkness that could be explored with a romance option; fully evil, just an edge of danger or anything in between. Whichever side you are, it's repetitive, you have the same couple of choices for every character over and over and over: Koth, Lana, Theron, repeat, Koth, Lana, Theron, repeat. Or staying loyal to your old romance who is MIA at the moment. I have eight characters across all eight classes, some light and some dark and in KOTFE (it seems) we all have the same romance options (unless I missed something?). Perhaps this will be addressed in Chapter 10 but since you gave us the option to start romancing some of these characters back in the Revan story it would have been nice to have more fully developed romance options when KOTFE was released. My request now would be: give us several NEW romanceable characters for each alignment but also go beyond alignment. People are not fully dark or fully light and now that you've introduced Influence you can create romanceable characters who are neither dark side nor light side but are something in between like we all are. Give us romanceable characters that make good choices and bad ones, who will argue with us and support us and someone we can't easily label as good or bad. It would be great to have new dark side, light side and ambiguous (can't think of a better word) romance options. I know that you can do this because I've seen the exceptional character development you've done on other games. And you know that you've created characters like this because you've seen the fan response in the past. Please give us the romance options we've been waiting for to go along with the excellent new story you've crafted. -Sincerely, A Mostly Happy Player

Would love for my very dark side sith inquisitor to have a shot at romancing the former Emperor's Wrath (Lord Scourge). Ok, ok, I remember how he told my knight that he lost the sense of taste and such with the whole immortality schtick, but he's kinda been severed of that tie, so.... maybe there's passion left in that boy yet... he IS sith, afterall.

I always thought it was strange that Scourge couldn't be romanced in general. I really think the romances need a rehaul and 4.0 and future updates gives BW a chance to do that.
