xIphonex Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Hey everyone it's Itchyeyes, I came up with 3 individual guides for all 3 sorc spec (lightning, madness, corruption). The videos explain a lot. As far as gear I'm going to make it nice and easy for everyone. The standard should be 8 crit pieces and 2 alacrity pieces. For relics run the mastery/power combo. For augments run all overkill aka power augs. You can also run versatile augs aka mastery augs if you are looking for some extra crit. I would highly advise sticking to the overkill augments however. Anyways hope you enjoy and follow the stream! -Itchyeyes Lightning -> http://www.twitch.tv/itchyeyes05/v/23121051 Madness -> http://www.twitch.tv/itchyeyes05/v/23121447 Corruption -> http://www.twitch.tv/itchyeyes05/v/23121816
bmrgold Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Why would we use power augs when crit or alacrity has been show to have better results? See this article for reference. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=844210 Edited October 30, 2015 by bmrgold
Going Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Why would we use power augs when crit or alacrity has been show to have better results? See this article for reference. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=844210 I'm going all power and it works great. Plus madness isn't burst and that's another reason. You get enough crit in enhancements.
bmrgold Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I was thinking we would want more more alacrity in PVP to help our dots tick faster... say 8% or so. A lot of things I am reading is that all power augs actually works best for burst specs (which we are not) and a mix of alacrity and crit would be best for sustained dps.

Did all power augs all crit enhances and 2 alac implants and 1 alac ear
Going Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I think burst specs will benefit most from crit because if you stack it, you Have more burst as all the crit makes up for the power.
xIphonex Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 power and mastery are by far the best augs you can use for pvp

I initially augmented with crit/alacrity and then switched to a combination of power/mastery, I definitely feel that running either power or mastery augments is superior to crit/alacrity for pvp - switching from the crit/alacrity setup to the mastery/power setup produced a noticeable (positive) difference.
xIphonex Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 There's only so much crit you can gain off of augmenting crit that isn't worth the loss in power and bonus damage and healing. Alacrity also doesn't really seem too effective because the reduction of cast times and abilities is fairly minuscule.
VongCommanderJah Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Hmmm yeah except you get insta rekt the moment your barrier is on cd, an assa jumps on you > gg release, a mara jumps on you > gg release ... This class just became **** compared to what it was at release (yeah I haven't played for 3 years)
