sideburnjack Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Hey All, First off, I am loving the new chapters. I think they are great! However, I ran into a problem. Normally, my friend and I like to watch each others stories but we cannot seem to summon each other into our stories. It seems that my friend and I can go back and help chapters that we have already completed but cannot help on chapters that our characters are on or future chapters. I am guessing this problem is due to the fact that we each have an active phase for the same chapter. For example, my friend and I are working on Chapter 4 and I invite him into my story. He accepts the invite but ends up going back to his story. I tried to reset my story phase hoping that would work, with no luck. Would I need to abandon the chapter for me to enter into his story or vice versa? Has anyone had success with this issue?

I haven't tried this myself, but I am pretty sure that the phases are designed to be done solo and not in groups. I could be wrong though.

FE chapters since there is only one story are treated as "same class storys" make sure you BOTH check the box in your user interface called "Allow access to same class storys" Who ever goes in first it will load that persons story. DataBeaver Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Does this mean I can't do the KotFE short together with my brother without doing each phase twice? That's disappointing, considering how much of it is in personal phases. It takes what, three or four chapters before we even step into a public area?

The first one is after you get out of the city into the swamp. You land in a phase, but the quest path exits the phase into a public area.
sideburnjack Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 Thanks for the tips! My friend and I got on and tried your suggestions and it seems to be working.
DataBeaver Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 So, I started playing KotFE with my brother. It's not exactly multiplayer friendly. As mentioned, chapters 1-3 are one big personal phase. Chapter 4 has an open area, but it's only used for moving between personal phases and clicking a few things. At this point my brother had to leave for IRL reasons, but I decided to continue with chapter 5, since it's entirely a personal phase as well. I think chapter 6 is as well, based on not finding any phase boundaries when I briefly checked it out. Chapter 7 has relatively large sections in open areas. If I remember chapter 8 right, it's a personal phase again. And chapter 9 is mostly just an introduction to the Alliance, which as you can guess happens inside a personal phase. So, out of nine chapters, only two have content in public areas, and one of those does not amount to much. More than ever SW:TOR is looking like a single-player game with a multiplayer endgame tacked on.
