Ferrnitty Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Okay guys I would like to offer a scenario and have some constructive feedback in order to better enlighten new and totally lost players in pvp. You have a healing sorc, a sniper, a jugg tank and a marauder in an arena.....who do you attack in what order and why?

Global sniper while cc sorc, if possible knockback the mara, if doesn't work, all in, and go sorc
RodneyMcNeely Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Anyone wearing Kiragga's Helm. I'm dead serious. That hat is the worst cranial atrocity to ever soil galactic fashion and should never be met with anything less than maximum force. I will seriously drop anything I'm doing to shred anyone with the temerity to wear that abomination in public. I'm not even kidding. Edited October 30, 2015 by RodneyMcNeely
Lundorff Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 In a standard, random group then always go for the simple solution: the healer. You can not expect random people to all follow some brilliant plan that evolves precision timed stuns and pulls. Getting 4 people to agree on one target and tunnel that person is hard enough.
lavatsunami Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Okay guys I would like to offer a scenario and have some constructive feedback in order to better enlighten new and totally lost players in pvp. You have a healing sorc, a sniper, a jugg tank and a marauder in an arena.....who do you attack in what order and why? Honestly, there are more variables than just the class. You have things like: 1) is a certain person overextending? 2) is a certain person losing their healer? 3) is a certain person very slow to react (i.e. using defensive cooldowns, responding to being focused) 4) is a certain person extremely reactive and pressuring hard? (confidence) 5) is a certain person separated from the pack? 6) is a certain person undergeared? Class does come in to play as you're not going to hit the jugg first unless they are extremely derp, see above. You also have to take into account melee/ranged, because you can get 1) and 2) from above for those. Best target is going to be the sniper, but depending on your composition, you're going to have to work your way over there. If you notice a dps (besides sniper) is 4), then cc as much as possible. If the heals seems derpy then go them immediately. I had one yesterday where a sorc healer refused to use force barrier for whatever reason. I soloed them both rounds. cmlfree Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Tunnel merc, always. Why? Because they are Redshirts. Although don't ask me why, but nothing pisses me off more than a sin who pulls me, if a PT pulls me I usually runaway, but if a sin does it, I HAVE to kill his ***. After that my target selection usually becomes more objective, unless I see a friend on the other side.

Lol when a sin pulls me (so, theyre a tank), I always think to myself, "What did you pull me over here for? To bore me to death?".
Master-Nala Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) On my Shadow Tank, I would probably go after the Sniper. Keeping taunt on her and trying to disrupt what she's doing. I would hope the other team member are at least pressuing the healer, but I can't do much to kill a Sorc healer that's anywhere near competent, so I think I would do better to intercept and lower some of that damage pouring out of the Sniper. On my Balance Sage, the answer is yes. I.e. I would attack them all at the same time. On my Commando Medic, I would be using Propulsion round while singing James Brown's Super Bad, "I jump back, I wanna kiss myself" AH HA HA! Edited October 30, 2015 by Master-Nala
Size-Matters-Not Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 In a pug? Pick one and try to focus. In a pug you can't match an organized pre-made with voice. Just ride it out in this case.
teclado Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) When a tank is involved, I try not to go after a guarded target. Typically, the healer will get guard right off the bat. If the healer is good and the tank is guard-swapping, it's probably game over, GG from there. Nothing you can do. If you don't have the same trinity composition, you're gonna die. So, round 1 can be a trial phase - feel out the other team (and yours). So, if the healer is guarded, I would go after the sniper or mara. Use CC on the healer, try to burst down the snipe/mara. If the tank is paying attention, the snipe/mara will get guard and it will be harder to burst them down. If this is the case, try to move a target out of guard range and burst it down. If the trinity comp sticks together, you're probably gonna lose. If the tank is not guard-swapping, the snipe/mara will die. Then it's just a matter of trying to separate the tank / healer (out of guard range) and burst down the healer. Otherwise CC the healer and try to kill the tank. GG you win. If it's trinity comp vs trinity comp and both tanks are guard swapping, both healers are doing well - it's a matter of separating and using CC effectively while putting out a lot of damage. You forgot to provide some key information... what class and spec are you playing? What classes are your team mates playing? Without that information it's impossible to come up with a best scenario.

If the healers rubbish youll notice this straight away by seeing how fast that sniper goes down... you can then decide to tunnel the tank or Mara and leave the healer till last... If the healers good, then cc them and tunnel the tank, then the healer, then the Mara... At least that's what I've found works since the Xpac and only in regs... Havent gotten ranked equiped yet
