Troelsen Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Why both? It seems like they serve the exact same purpose, and most similar abilities gained by a Discipline replace the old ones. Instead, Sticky Grenade is buffed in the tree instead of being replaced by a buffed Assault Plastique. Sorry if this has been asked already but I haven't been able to find a thread asking or answering this question. I want to ask if I should have both on my bars but it obviously seems like yes.

venomlash Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Oddly enough, at launch Assault Plastique DID replace Sticky Grenade, as they shared a cooldown. But then BioWare realized that people might want to do an AoE pulse without screwing up their damage rotation (say for delayed cap-stopping or for controlling a group of standards) and separated their cooldowns in 1.4.0 (Terror From Beyond).
Troelsen Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Yeah I remember on my Powertech that Thermal Grenade shared a cooldown with Explosive Dart, so I thought maybe something like that was still going on or the Plastique was bugged and not replacing Sticky Grenade.
