zachsmannequin Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Let me start off by saying thank you to any members of the Bioware SWTOR team that might happen to read this. I think that you have done an outstanding job with the new expansion and just want to say I for one appreciate all of the time, energy, and hard work that is put into continually releasing new content and improvements. I can honestly say that I believe this is one of the best games I have played in terms of involvement in the community and continued support. I have been playing since shortly after launch and for a majority of that time have been subbed. There have been times where I have been extremely unhappy with changes Bioware has made. Most of us at one point or another probably have. I think at these times it is important to realize that these changes have been made for a reason. Regardless if I agree with that reason or not it still exists. So crying that "X change is ruining the game" or "Half of the subs will drop within a month over Y!" Is not only completely unproductive, unhelpful, and very childish (I'm not getting my way so a fit must be pitched) but it also in reality is what will actually kill the game much quicker than any of the changes that have been made. Take the new buffed up companions, level syncing, and tactical flashpoints for example. I'm sure that there are many players out there like me who missed out on a lot of content, mostly of the group nature, simply due to trying to avoid these toxic players. With the new changes implemented I am finally able to enjoy some of these things without being told how large a piece of excrement I am for accidentally missing a heal or dubbed an idiot due to not knowing fight mechanics my first time through a flash point or heroic. Nine times out of ten these are the same people you see on the forums claiming the game is doomed and attacking the developers for making efforts to improve the game for the community at large (Because while I hate to be the bearer of bad news I must inform you that just because you are loud and repetitive enough with your opinion of the games direction it does not make it fact). If you don't agree with changes then offering constructive feedback, actual ideas and suggestions instead of accusations and insults, is a much better way of accomplishing that goal than biting the hand that feeds you. One of my favorite quotes is "Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way." Either accept the changes for what they are and move on with your game, offer suggestions and solutions in a constructive manner to changes you disagree with and help make this a game that more people want to play, or go ahead and follow through on your threats to /ragequit, just don't be surprised when the game and community somehow manage to survive and keep going despite your absence. The game didn't die when doomsday was cried after 1.0 or 2.0 or again when it was cried after 3.0 or at any of the patches in between.
Zerileth Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 but it also in reality is what will actually kill the game much quicker than any of the changes that have been made. This seems like a contradiction to your whole post, but some decent points here. Tough read without paragraphs. I don't think the game will fail but I hope they get the bugs fixed and tweak crafting better.
