Wolvereen Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) The bad things - ninja nerfs like force leap/charge -> 0-30m to 10-30m and a higher CD -> kills a lot of the classe's fun - nerfing skills because of PvP -> i don't like PvP, so why do i have to suffer consequences too? - stun, interrupts, CC -> it feels like almost every trash mob can stun or interrupt you! a 4 sec stun from a trash mob makes me feel i don't play star wars -> it feels more like stun wars - removing all learned recipes for hilts and barrels -> feels like i got robbed - no choice to get your favorite (old) companion in the first "batch" of companions -no hires-texture upgrade for old armor -> my white robe still look ugly in cutscenes or conversations The good things: - level sync -> it's really cool now to visit older planets and do some H2 there^^ - new companion/alliance system - new fast travel system - slightly better graphic, more detailed worlds Edited October 29, 2015 by Wolvereen
LJScribes Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 dislike the change to skill because of pvp. A better solution would have been to make those skills perform differently when used on players, or when in pvp battlegrounds. also dislike skill nerfs like the force charge, and the cd nerf to annihilate on Warriors. Point blank jump was a good rage builder and also added to the fun aesthetic look of the class when just killing trash mobs. It made you feel heroic, which was one of the design aspects for classes when this game came out. Same deal with Annihilate/Merciless Slash for Marauders and Watchmen. The ability's decreasing cool down made the class feel like it was building a steady momentum, add in some alacrity gear and you felt like you were going on a frenzy with the skill almost down to 5 seconds (more or less)! The added four seconds onto the cooldown was too much of what some people excuse as "adding breathing room to the rotation." You wanna know what my new rotation is? Spam Massacre as Carnage spec because Annihilation is boring now. and finally, I can't change any of the new companions clothing. I mean come on. Bioware games pride themselves on player choice and customization, 4.0 made the old companions soooo much better. I can bring the companions I wanted play with now rather than being forced to pick ones that I didn't like or found uninteresting because they fitted a role I needed. ON TOP OF THAT, I no longer had to keep up on their gear, which can be rather tedious when you are leveling up someone and you don't exactly have the budget to keep both yourself and your companions geared. EVEN BETTER! Companions no longer had weight restrictions on gear meaning I could customize their looks even further to make them all look just how I pleased. Now that they are all gone and I'm stuck with these new bunch of people. I'd like to change their gear, but nope. Lana looks like a roller derby girl, for. ever. The only thing you can change is their weapon and color crystal but guess what? That doesn't even show in cutscenes. Gave Lana a cool saber and a white color crystal, following cutscene she magically found her old saber that I had chucked in the garbage, and waved it about in defiance of my ideal of freedom of choice. My likes..... getting other classes' companions is cool. I'll be using them, instead of the story specific ones... cuz customization... yeah.
Bobs_YourUncle Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 The bad - The lag is real! - New alliances interaction thing (where your character doesn't talk). - Some other random bugs so far, one where in the star fortress, after using the grappling hook to jump a gap, my character faces back towards the gap and promptly falls to his death because my finger is already pressing the forward key mid jump and I keep expecting the guy to land just like he always has before when using those things. Another where respec won't confirm. The good - Lana doesn't look like a freak anymore - Story - Cutscenes - Alliance System - Level Sync - Companion Changes (No more gearing and it's looking like we get a ton of them now) - Crew skill changes (I only do missions, and I'm so happy I can just send the highest influence companions on any of the missions every 30 minutes rather than every hour) Ok, I've liked pretty much everything, but there are a few things I've not dabbled in yet: GF (Tacticals supposedly harder, players supposedly worse) for one, and PvP (which didn't have much change as far as I know).
Asheris Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I like: - the story - the alliance system - old companions showing up - how freaking easy it is to make money now I don't like: - the new flashpoint - level sync - new companions - nothing to spend my credits on
