Can't get into the game. I hit the play button on my launcher... the title screen comes up and that's it. The weird little icon spins in the lower right corner of my screen letting me know the game is trying to initiate, but nothing more happens. I've sat on the title screen for 15 minutes waiting for the character selection screen to load, but nothing happens.

I was able to resolve this issue by going into my game directory and deleting the Bitraider folder. This, in turn, forced the launcher to repair my installation.

I was forced to take this measure because the launcher did not detect the error in my installation as it's supposed to. Consequently the "repair" button was grayed out and unusable. I humbly submit that the repair function IS bugged and not operating the way it was intended.

Check your firewall settings or turn them off. I turned off my firewall and got in. I vaguely remember this happening last time they changed the servers like this.

I went to swtor folder then bitraider and deleted the 3 files .xfr then it worked

This solved my problem, though I deleted the entire folder... not just the files you've mentioned.

My issue could have just as easily been caused by a DNS error, in which case I would have had to clear my DNS cache ( Here's a good guide to do that http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1600/vista_dns_cache_flush/ )

or it could have been caused by a Windows Firewall setting. (Here's a guide to Window's Firewall http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/communicate-through-windows-firewall#1TC=windows-7 )

Cheers.

Similar issue here. I had some bad sectors on the hard drive and one of the files was ****ed. Chkdsk told me which one and I deleted it. I then ran the FixLauncher program from the SW:TOR directory, and it gave me back the old launcher with the repair scan feature.
