Mashugana Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 If I find an outfit that I want and it is only available through a Cartel Pack, what is the best way to get it? Do I save up and try and find it on the Auction House for a bazillion credits? Or can I use the new Bronze/Silver/Gold Cartel Market packs to try and increase my chances? Thanks - I find the whole random nature of the armor drops to be confusing and annoying. I am happy to plunk down real cash for armor I want. But it is hard to plunk down real cash for a 2% chance to get the pieces I want. How do you guys collect armor? Thanks.

If you want to play the Cartel market searching game - I would check to see what color icon the $ symbol is on an item in that set. Bronze - look for Bronze pack - Silver look for Silver pack - Gold look for Gold Pack Problem is, you'll be looking at 1/100 type chances at getting the set that you actually want, and your CC will be gone. What might be best if you don't have the credits now but are willing to play the Cartel Market game - is to purchase something that will sell for a solid amount (Thexan's Armor as an example will sell for 3+ Million on my server) - wait the cooldown period, and then sell it for credits on the GTN - take credits, then buy set that you like. Its less risky as long as that item keeps the price up decent. Zakuul Dropship, Species Unlocks, can all be done this way.
JediQuaker Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) The most assured method would be to buy the set you want from the GTN (or even, just those parts you really want). If you can't afford the GTN prices, you could buy some various packs and hope to get something that you could sell on the GTN for lots of credits. Edited October 28, 2015 by JediQuaker
J_Fred Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 GTN is your best bet. Check hourly and you might catch some good deals. Just the other day I got the full sith recluse set for 2 mil
Mashugana Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Thanks all. It Seems I need credits to get what I want off of the GTN. Perfect. I have zero credits but I have 3,000 cartel coins. I think the best way to convert my Cartel Coins to credits is to buy the Zakuul Dropship, Species Unlocks, and Thexan's Armor and sell them on the GTN. Is that right? Or are there other cartel items that sell well on GTN? Thanks again.
dr_mike Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Species Unlocks I'd skip that. Most of us probably already have the species unlocks if we wanted them. I'd look at the level 60 character create token... edit: Do remember that any cartel purchase is going to be bound for 48 hours before you can sell it on the gtn. Don't interact with it or else you may screw up something and it will become bound permanently. Just leave it in your character bank for 2 days. Edited October 28, 2015 by dr_mike

Look at some stuff that you can buy from the CM, then go to a GTN terminal and see how much those items are selling for and how many such items there are being sold. You can then make a more informed decision about the best approach to flipping CM items for credits. And do not overlook cartel packs. Might be worth it to buy a supercrate of the new Underworld Alliance pack, open it up, and then re-sell the five packs separately. But again, check to see how much packs are going for before you make any purchase. Edited October 28, 2015 by Mithros

Icestar Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 If I find an outfit that I want and it is only available through a Cartel Pack, what is the best way to get it? Do I save up and try and find it on the Auction House for a bazillion credits? What armor pack is it? With the introduction of the new armor packs I expect the prices will go down a bit. I opened a few of those and found armors worth well over 10 millions.
Mashugana Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Thanks again all - I'll dig around my GTN and see what makes sense.
Ghenghis-Khan Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 buy artifact authorization for account. It sells for a pretty penny on most servers.
Jerqa Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks again all - I'll dig around my GTN and see what makes sense. The GTN is where I get most of my armor sets from. If I find a set that I want and it is not cheap to buy I'll watch it on the GTN for a few days and get a feel for the pricing. The prices can fluctuate a lot even within just a few hours time. Usually in time I can complete a set for pretty cheap, it just takes some time and a bit of luck
