uncix Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Hello , im returning player. And cant figure out what crew skill is good for making money ? I had slicing+UNDERWORLD TRADING+and scavaging if remeber correct but i didint earn anything good becous mattrials didint sell :/ Only way have i earned monet was buying cartel pack and selling items what i dont need I hope somone could help me. I want to collect for flying sith chair mount
holmstean Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 the best money maker now days, imo, is making aug kits or the components for those kits. Mats wise the purple slicing mats for making the high end augs sell pretty good as well. You just have to look at the gtn and determine for yourself what you want to farm for.
uncix Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Farming realy not problem i have 2 60lvl , full on crew just dont remember what but 2x slicing i know for sure Im just to noob to know what is good to farm becous gtn is big ;/ But i take your tip and check later gtn ah forgot to say , i want to do withs crew becous i have limited time to play a day , and cant do all dailys. So crew skill is more less last chance :/ Edited October 27, 2015 by uncix
psandak Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 It is hard to say with any decisiveness at this point because the crew skill system was "updated" radically with 4.0. For money making, I firmly believe that crafting is the best method over the long haul, but it does take a significant investment at the start. If you want quicker returns, stick with selling materials.
joenewbie Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I've recently returned myself, about 5 weeks now, and i, like you, did the same thing, taking CC items and selling them on GTN for credits. Just dumped 3 Level 60 character tokens and cleared about 12 mill for that. Problem is I'm spending TONS on working up crew skills on each of my crafter types. I have a great supply of mats, but I feel until I max out influence with at least one companion on each crafter so I can have more crits it's not worth creating high end Augs/items yet. Especially since 4.0 dropped, the economy has gotten really unpredictable. It's going to cost me millions in credits to get my influence up, especially on the free level 60 they give you because you didn't run through the main storyline with them you have no influence with them. This will surely drive up the cost of companion gifts, but I can't really sell the ones I do have because I need them to pump up my own companions first. Crazy huh? We're in the same boat with only our hands for paddles. lol
psandak Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Especially since 4.0 dropped, the economy has gotten really unpredictable What server are you on? Because on The Harbinger most of the GTN prices have been extremely predictable...VERY HIGH due to lack of supply and only today just starting to come down, but still more profitable than equivalent stuff in the peak of 3.x. In fact, for all the gloom and doom running up to 4.0 regarding the crafting system, I have quite literally picked up exactly where I left off. In one week, I have made 5 million credits selling augments alone (blue and purple). Dye modules are another big factor (although value is slightly lower than pre-4.x but that is to be expected considering that they not longer require Midlithe crystals). And I cannot keep up with demand on stims and they are selling for twice what they were pre-4.0 I do not expect these value to remain, but I am taking full advantage of them edit: I posted 7 augments 40s of various types on one character less than 20 minutes ago and they are ALL sold; roughly 800k Edited October 28, 2015 by psandak

What will sell for profit today is bound to invert in about a month... that's always true but right now because of not just inflation of values but the hyperinflation it makes it volatile. Some people are selling items way over inflated vs their actual value then the next person undercuts 50% on the same item. Because of the aggressive undercutting I try to post items for only 6 or 12 hours so I can adjust appropriately. EDIT: also the thing on stims is news to me, I'm still building up my Bio guy. He can't craft level 8 yet, let alone get the mats as he's only level 30-ish at the moment. Edited October 28, 2015 by joenewbie
MeNaCe-NZ Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Slicing is pretty super profitable right now.
uncix Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 ok thanks, then i just craft somthing and try to sell xD And nothing good from farming 1h a day can come from slicing if remember correct then mission dont give any good money anyomore.
Dabrixmgp Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) i made a ton of creds leveling my new Jugg using Cybertech. With the nerf to comm transferring people are having to buy their mods and enhancements off the GTN. I cant keep up with how fast they sell. Considering it takes 9 Mods to fill a set of armor including MH/OH at 20-40k each that means 180-360k per set. I usually list 1 set of Mods and 1 set of enhancements for levels 8, 18, 26, and 38. Slicing purples are what I'm talking about, get good crit with comps and now you can select the mission you want always ... profit.
