jamesaff Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Any info on this is bioware aware of the situation, how does the opposite faction even get to the starter planet, is it a bug or what?? If it is a bug as I said does bioware know about it? Hopefully they plan on punishing the people doing this.. Saw a jugg on rep flag ship..
Alericus Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 While on my stronghold on Dromund Kaas Ive been hearing about Pubs on the planet but I'm not sure how much damage they can do..considering level sync but as far as I knew they are not supposed to get there so it seems someone(s) [please spelling cops go away] has figured out another exploit. This is again why we cant have nice things..little goofs who probably never actually pvp, unless of course they bring their third party trackers, porters and friend lag, just make BW tighten the game until we can barely do anything. Level sync was a reaction to this behavior god knows what's next. My solution and always has been ..stop with the 3 day bans..its time to permaban these idiots and don't do it quietly. Announce it plaster their damn names everywhere..remove the temptation to attempt this crap and let players know you are serious. Take a page from the big boys at Sony and Blizzard and get Sith on their butts. I'm sorry but your silence on this matter does equate toleration in the minds of many gamers. I don't agree but its hard to argue when it seems they just keep doing it without any ramifications.
Jadescythe Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Fixed in patch today. Can't log in to verify.
Skullncross Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 lets see ive been playing on and off since beta of this game ive participated in a couple of world pvp encounters one was with another player the same lvl as me and they came off worse and one were I first did pvp and like a fool followed the reble player into their camp to get owned by the guards but ive never ganked anyone lower than myself anyway if your on a pve server and wander around in pvp and you get killed by a higher level that's your own fault its not griefing if your doing pvp matches anyone with a brain would make sure your on fleet when you do this its not rocket science.so why the level sync lets conclude it may seem fine in the long run but the pros and cons are ok the pros on a planet were both factions can interact with each other your the same level so would stop griefing but the cons are as planets like korriban and drummund kaas are imp planets and the rebels cant get to them then theres no worry of griefing as it cant happen so lower lvls don't have anything to fear but in the long run when your first playing a new mmo how does one encourage new players into the pvp world lets see yes you allow the odd gank and why because that player will get so annoyed they will say to them selves "when I'm a higher level I'm gonna get that person then they say wait theres pvp matches I can take out my frustration there instead" thus lvl sycn has just lowered the pvp player base theres always a knock off effect in games and this expansion just did it with lvl sync so the fezz dude on hoth that mission for me cant be completed now if I was a developer id say ok what it a player cant get a group together for that mission ok lets turn that small area into a phased area so that if your a lower lvl for that planet its a challenge for when your in a group but if your a higher lvl and need it to complete a lvl 65 mission then for that one boss you can enter and still be lvl 65 but you cant be in a group and as soon as you are in that part no one else can see you as your off phased thus being able to finish the mission now I remember before the change on my 55 the first was still a long fight anyway as the mob fears your companion so you have to solo it anyway. and when I was lvl 17 I couldn't get a group together and now at 18 as a 65 still cant get a group together for that mob so you have defeated the object bioware so what are you going to do to sort this out maybe make the mission with a lfg option or stick the first boss in his own instance like the one for shadow spawn then one can progress?oh so do you think that removing companions clothing was the way to go ok follow me on this bioware I used to spend my cartel points on companion armour now they don't wear any that means a revenue loss on your part as now say I was 1 in 1million players doing the same how much in money would you be losing? doesn't money help the developing process? now my iq is low but id say if your cutting that out then your not making as much as you could of been if you had it in for comps I loved dressing my comps up so I felt unique now I feel like my comp is cookie cutter style and looks like everyone elses also if players are botting it helps their characters as they are uniformal the same thus the programs they use can be simplistic way to go.oh I'm not nerd raging either just staing the common mistake a lot of gaming companies have made in the past but you've not yet that's how companies learn take those who made star wars galaxies and were is that game now? can you see my point don't become another swg please.I cant take having to look for another star wars game to come along I'm to old for this.(omg the shock and horror of my typing and some of you will say punctuation I cant breath rearlly you read my posts out loud lol)

LordAratar Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Fixed with 4.0.1 patch, per the notes, though time will tell if that is accurate. From what I've heard, it was an exploit available to high lvl characters, using strongholds rather than a glitch or bug as such. Most of the opposite-faction people I saw wandered around killing NPCs and quest givers, while others spent their time fighting spectacular battles with defending high lvls. I heard stories of griefing, mostly involving tricking newbies into accidentally triggering PvP by camping on quest givers or around groups of mobs. I didn't see those personally, but will stilll be glad if it really is fixed - starter locations in a story-centric theme park MMO do not need to be PvP battlegrounds.
Alericus Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 ...and now you have a glimpse of what old Iulm had turned into..well that and win trade squads. For all the whining about world pvp, seems players really don't want a fair fight they want grief fests..so sad.

For all the whining about world pvp, seems players really don't want a fair fight they want grief fests..so sad. I agree. And this is what made me so bitter about PvP. And the fact that the matchmaking software doesn't generate balanced teams - possible due to the whining of those who don't want to wait (lazyness) and want faster pops.
DeltaGun Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Please don't tell me you're complaining about ganking on a PvP server. That's what a PvP server is for.
AndriusAjax Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) My solution and always has been ..stop with the 3 day bans..its time to permaban these idiots and don't do it quietly. Announce it plaster their damn names everywhere..remove the temptation to attempt this crap and let players know you are serious. Auto flag doesn't even apply until a certain level. So the only way to get killed by an opposing faction, as a starter on a starter planet, is to attack someone. That's called opting in. And pve servers still allow you to go on about your merry ole business... So i don't see the issue. I loved defending tython and had just as much fun attacking korriban. I had hoped it was gona stay. Aside from the npcs being killable, it's really no harm. I actually participated in killing the NPC and letting ppl click on me while I sat via /chair. Quite fun. I didn't do it for more than 5 min tho - griefing makes my heart hurt. So this permaban BS is silly talk. Let ppl have fun. That's the point of videogames. If you don't like open world pvp.... why did you choose pvp server? Certainly not for the population. I was leveling an alt when the imps started Gsummoning and murdering on tython. Was it annoying?? Absolutely not. I got my 65 out and had a blast. If you can't take a little heat, get out of the kitchen and go to a pve server where butterflies and softies roam free Edited October 29, 2015 by AndriusAjax
