Hello, a recently returned player (will leave again as soon as I finish with KOTFE). I just wanted to point out that Bioware is almost certainly lying about why they removed the gear vendors.

In case you haven't noticed, Bioware has recently removed most of the planetary vendors. Unnoticed (or at least unremarked on) is that they have also removed the vendors selling common gear (the white gear) which has only armor stats. This gear has just about no effect on players as players don't really go out of their way to buy it. BUT, given the changes to comps and the fact that gear is just a vanity item for comps; this may mean that the common gear was removed so that they can resell the armor skins to us for cartel coins.

This may also mean that the real reason they removed much of the orange gear from the planetary vendors was to deprive us of those options as well.

/remove tinfoil

I just wanted to share my suspicions. It may be that these vendors will be re-added later . . . but will they again charge credits/data crystals or will this gear be for CC?

how are they lying...I don't recall them saying they weren't going to do this

They said they removed comm gear vendors to make leveling process more "challenging"

but they did remove them...so that isn't a lie...it does make it more challenging (maybe) its not lying to then reuse them for another purpose. Unless you are suggesting they removed them solely to remake as cartel items...which they don't need to lie about they reuse shells all the time

I know, right? You see one on CM for CC's. Then you get a random drop that's of green quality, but only the coloring is a little different. With companions not needing to be geared anymore, random green quality items that look real good would work out well for dressing up our comps....

Am I wrong?

Personally, I find it reprehensible that this non-profit organization is blatantly working to get more....what?...BW isn't a non-profit organization?

Oh. Well then. I guess there's nothing inherently wrong with a for-profit business working to make money.

Maybe OP should go looking for a game that isn't out to make a buck?
