I've been seeing a lot of these posts lately about returning beta/launch players. Count me in to try again.

 

I just started getting through Makeb (RotHC) since I am a few expansions behind, but had some questions about things I should do prior to starting KotFE.... I just now started reading about the new expan and didn't realize when you start it, it's kind of a can no longer return to old content setup.

 

What old content does the KotFE prevent you from going back and doing? I want to make sure I take care of everything I can before starting the new expansion so I don't miss out. Just play through both expansions, and do all the companion quests prior? Is there a list of what the new expansion prevents you from going back and doing? Will I miss out on getting things like max reputation for certain factions, or certain achievements once I start the new expan?

 

As someone who actually likes MMO end game content; raiding, 5mans, PvP, getting better gear and progressing, etc... Am I going to be severely disappointed in the game once I finish the story quests?

You will be able to do the Ops, Flashpoints and Heroic missions, but all the story stuff will be locked out and you will not be able to go back. This includes the companion stories.

 

I believe all subscribers will have the option to create 1 new level 60 for free which can do the KotFE content (if you want more than 1 level 60 you will need to buy a token for it on the CM). That way you can leave your other characters to finish whatever story you want, but still be able to do the new stuff.

Well I was already 50, so I did the vanilla story quest. So if I do RotHC and SoR storylines, plus maybe the companion quests prior, I shouldn't miss out on anything? Not bad I guess. Edited October 26, 2015 by WSFrazier
