It just sort of hit me.

With the ridiculous rate at which people are gaining XP (and trust me, I am not complaining), has anyone tried to just level via Heroics post Korriban? Because I remember when I picked up heroics on fleet after Korriban, I not only had DK but Balmorra as well.

And with the number of heroics, I have to wonder, since you already have a companion leaving your starter planet, can you just say "*bleep* the story until KotFE, I'll grind heroics with my only comp"?

In which case, does that mean Heroics are a feasible way to grind XP (maybe a combo of Heroics and solo flashpoints)?

I guess what has the potential to get me excited is alternate leveling paths for the main game that wouldn't feel grindy. Heck, that might even feel more "authentic" for RP Troopers, BHs and Agents.

Very curious to know if anyone's tried.

a friend of mine said 6 heroics got him from 60 to 65

I highly doubt it was 6. I did it on my Slinger from 60-65, and it was actually faster than doing it through the KOTFE story was on my main, took maybe about an hour and a half, so probably about 10-15. Still, crazy fast.

Yeah, probably around 10-15, which is probably around 2-3 planets of heroics.

It's great though... I have done Makeb and SOR a zillion times, and while I enjoy them for what they are, I'm SO happy I can just bypass them for future alts. I love the heroic leveling so much.

The OP is an interesting suggestion though, I'll have to try that. I've only leveled using them for characters 50+.

Challenging, relevant, and epic storytelling

there, just getting that out of the way before some level sync argument is started and the white knights flock and start throwing out the buzz words

i leveled one of my alts form 60-65 doing the Nar Shadda and Tatooine Heroics.

I really dont see the issue people are having here. The level scaling is always in effect keeping the content relevant. In the old 12xp times, going over your "intended level" was an issue as you wouldn't get XP and the NPCs you're fighitng are all many levels under. That isn't the case anymore

Oh, it wasn't an issue on my part. Actually a bit excited at the prospect that it could actually be viable to level via heroics - if for instance you are tired of the story for a bit and just want to jump in, mission style, to different situations and scenarios. Could really break up the grind and travel fatigue.

And just when you get tired of that, jump back into the story, and level sync to the rescue.

Seriously, the sheer flexibility of the system and its possibilities seem amazing to me. Its essentially "do whatever the bleep you want, and you'll level at a decent pace regardless". Its like a real solution to the grind people feel.

Esseles/BT give you like 3-4 levels in solo mode. I left the capital planet at like 24. I don't think there is a bad way to level right now tbh.

Same. I for one think that is awesome.

I think it's cool for me, but really makes a large part of the game unnecessary. One of the issues I found when hopping into Wildstar when it went F2P is that there are all these quests, but you level so much faster than the area that you get no XP for doing them. Which was honestly a hugely negative experience as someone unfamiliar with the game.

Having the option of which of the two planets to go to first in the story was really nice though. I remember at launch I did them in the wrong order and was wondering why I had such a hard time on the planet I went to first.
