Jeezus, I didnt think that was remotely possible to be done in a MMO

 

Seen SD-0 on my alt, figured i log on my main and go get him, cause no one else wanted to fight with me.

 

Sure enough, Roll on in with my bad *** 55 Knight, Looking Flash as hell, ready and primed!

 

Launch in an attack and Bam dead after 3 hits!

Serious? You synced levels? For what reason and purpose?

 

Lemme guess: High level players were solo lowbie content up for Credits and loots and selling on the GTN right?

 

Well i guess thats reason enough, But Level sync as a punishment to everyone else?

Maybe make a group to take on world bosses like it's supposed to be?

 

With the change in end game solo content to running heroics on previous planets I think level sync was an essential mechanic.

You are still well over the power curve for others at level and if you are struggling you can group up... I know a scary prospect in an MMO.

Lol look some more butthurt, so you tried to solo a world boss? Yeah thats one of the things they wanted to stop

Well looking at the new content, it requires one to complete heroics or sell off basic crystals.

 

A lvl 65 could lolstomp tython, coruscant, and another and call it day.

Need credits? Just farm things.

 

Here is the crazy fact though,

 

You can still farm things by putting a little bit of time into your companion. You can even solo some stuff still.

 

Level sync has definitely slowed things down for players, but I think that is a good thing. Prices as a whole will drop down on some servers.

Level sync is there so they can use the old bonus series and heroic quests on planets for endgame content. Basically when you reach 65 you need to do H2 quests on every planet for the Alliance system.

 

They could've just bumped the levels of those quests up, but I guess this was a long term solution to them, keeping them relevant regardless of how often they increase the level cap.

The need for level sync is on biowars end. They wanted a cheap method to create endgame content by recycling old stuff. Expect everything that comes to be recycled into the next "expansions". Edited by Neglience

SD-0 should be tough, what's the problem ? Unless your character could travel back in time in Swtor it does not make sense to be able to solo it, at all. Time's fixed on planets but your characters story progression isn't so you should never be able to kill a world boss solo. Think alot of people neglect to see this.

 

I dislike level sync for other reasons but on the whole World boss not a solo thing, it's fine.

 

Just my opinion of course.

It should have been done a long time ago, it's kind of what modern MMOs should be doing (and many are). It keeps content relevant and encourages you to help lower level people (because you need the help yourself).

So we could level and get xp and our level reward on any planet of our choosing? Seriously now, that's the greatest thing that they could have done. Just imagine now. All content can be done anywhere. It's great!

Theres no "need" to do anything.

 

Its just what they decided to do, in line with other global changes, and thats pretty much it.

 

They decided you wont be able to solo WBs.

Are you able to use group finder to make world boss groups at 65? If you can't, then that should definitely be implemented as needing a ton of people for those again is really the only legitimate potential downside I can think of with level sync.

Now that I've done a fair bit of the heroics, going back to older planets, and fighting through the mobs, my conclusion is the sync is awesome. I'm still overleveled and powerful enough to walk through or dodge most mobs. The one's I got to fight are down in a second. The heroics are still way easy to solo, but challenging enough to actually kill me at times. There's a whole other world of relevant, and sometimes challenging, solo content open to me now at endgame. Was it absolutely needed? Hardly anything is, but I think its a huge plus to the game.

 

Edit: The only downside I can think of is that drops from mobs are not giving level relavent rewards.

You got down leveling so they could make you do 4 year old content in a newly created grind because the first time you grinded things wasn't enough. This one needed to be 25 times more "grindy"

 

It allowed BW to do less, rehash old content and add a hurdle to something that didn't need it given gamers have been having a good time soloing old content for a while now. Making world bosses need a group could have been handled from a terminal like heroics.

 

Get down leveled for the best rewards through the terminal and get ported to where you need to go.

Go to the planet and do it like you have been for years. Get old rewards as you have been getting

 

Down leveling is a joke as a forced feature 24/7 and it added nothing to the game as far as entertainment goes or at least no mare then we already had.. Just an addition hurdle and a massive grind system.
