Short the door opening time in warzones!

Oftenly after i pop in warzone, i got kicked out as "deserter" because door didnt open at all! I am waiting and waiting and i can't enter. :mad:

I know the reason might be my not so fast computer which loads warzone too long, but why more then 15 sec for these door to open!?

Please short this i am not the only one with this problem!

The reason is because the defenders on Voidstar are right there at the doors. Let the doors open to quickly and the attackers will never be able to pop a door. The delay on the barrier popping is once every 30 seconds and I think the game kicks you as a deserter if you don't leave after the second barrier drop. So you have at least a min to get out of the rez zone.

 

If you got that kind of delay getting in and out of matches, your PC is probably below system spec for the game or your internet connection is just below par. Either way, the only way to improve performance is avoid running game UI add ons and set everything on video to low.

I regularly get warnings when I haven't missed a door opening while waiting for respawn in huttball and other WZs. I think it only happens when I push on the door though. There's something buggy going on in/around this aspect of WZs.

I think that the door timers should actually increase, but there should be a secondary way to open them.

 

Basically, on the inside of the door, there should be a panel. Think of it like the capture nodes on Novare Coast.

 

The panel would have a progress bar. When the progress bar fills completely the door opens. It would gradually fill on it's own over time. But the more people who click and channel on it, the faster the progress bar would progress, thus opening the door faster.

 

So, if left alone, the doors would generally open slower than they currently do. But the more players who die, the faster the door could potentially open.

 

This would also give underdog teams a bit of a handicap to keep the games more competitive.

I can understand the need for a timer in void star... But it doesn't take 30secs to cap a door... 20 secs would be sufficent...

As for other matches... Hutt ball should never have a timer... It should be like civil war... Instant respawn... Yes I know there is the speeder ride... So make the respawn where you actually spawn into Hutt Ball... Or at lease only make it 10 secs... Someone can grab the ball in mid and score while your whole team is in the respawn... Hutt Ball is a sport... I don't know any sports that gives the other team that sort of advantage

Nova coast is another that doesn't need a respwn time... You have to travel to the nodes anyway... But if you must have one, 10 secs is all it should be

Yes it might be the reason for my problem then... My laptop "measures" 5 years already, and i have all game settings at "very low", but it still doesnt work fine sometimes. :(

Have to wash many dishes for my mum, maybe i get a new one soon! :p

It is very odd. For some reason when I play Novare Coast I almost never have a very long wait between door openings. It just seems like for some reason the barrier is close to dropping every time I rez. Voidstar for me is the polar opposite. I die and I have long waits behind the barrier. And if you have three or more team members waiting on a long barrier drop, that is a free bomb plant.

 

That is one of the most annoying things about Voidstar. You can wipe an opposing team and they are right back on you before you can even begin to plant a bomb, or if you getting lucky on the timing, that same wiped team is sitting behind a barrier. Hell, I have seen some matches go where the attackers pop a door and practically have started a plant on the next one in the time I have stayed behind a barrier. It is all in the luck of the timing on killing the defenders in relation to the barrier drop.

 

Do I think Novare Coast should have a barrier at the rez? I do. Otherwise neither side could take mid. You would constantly have people rushing as they die. So unless one team completely dominates the other, mid might never fall to one side or the other short of one team completely ignoring it.
