A new use for basic comms.

So I'm slowly reaching the cap of basic comms on my Jedi, I don't have anything to use them on. Each time I pick one up I get the message "you are reaching close to your cap", There is a problem thou.

After getting your yavin 186 gear there isn't a use for basic comms, you don't need to buy your companions gear and you can't transfter them to alts.

Can we get some fun little stuff to use basic comms on. Maybe some small decorations for your strong hold.

Lights, plants, chairs. nothing to crazy, something we can sink some of our basic comms into. Even make it basic comms and some credits. I don't care.

they need to add vendors into the game that offer craftable items, resources, decorations for basic commms. they are really very useless at this point.

or they need to take the time to add a comms transfer vendor that you can use comms to purchase higher level comms or something along those lines

are you sure?

Because i can

buy MODS from Rishi vendor, add them into your LEGACY bank, load your alt, get them and sell them back before the bound timer ends. You got in your alt some basic coms

Yeah, we can always have the high level character with more comms purchase mods for the low level character that doesn't have enough on hand to make the purchases themselves. It is also kind of possible (and hopefully not something that they'll patch out...) to "transfer" basic comms... (I don't think there's any option that works to transfer elites or ultimates though, right? It's only the basic comms?)

Let us buy contraband cartel chips (or whatever replacement we will get for other reps) at a rate of one chip per commendation.

You want to open up that can of worms in this thread?

They'll need to have some revamps on the way for that and future machines. They need to create what feels like a worthwhile reward system in the slot machines instead of feeling like a huge waste of time for anybody no longer in need of the rep items. It's understandable that they want to be cautious about "lucrative" rewards (scrap and certs which can be turned into items for GTN sales) but perhaps they could add "prize tickets" (contraband prize tickets, I.C.E. prize tickets, etc. to match each machine) and then also add alternative purchase options to each of the rep vendors in the Cartel Bazaar so that prize tickets can be used to purchase any of their stock. This would provide a more common prize to distract from the rare but more versatile cartel certificate drops. They'd drop fairly often (much better than the cert drop rate) and each one would put you that much closer to being able to select a "bind on pickup" or "bind to legacy" prize from the appropriate rep vendor.

I might also suggest some sort of "materials prize tickets" as more common materials prizes. They would come in green, blue, and purple varieties just like the scrap. And each of the Jawa vendors would start stocking at least a few different levels of "materials prize boxes". You pay 1 ticket for a mk-1 box, 3 tickets for a mk-2 box, 5 tickets for a mk-3 box, etc. Each box can contain a few units chosen randomly from appropriate grades of materials. Like maybe mk-1 boxes contain anything from grades 1-3, mk-2 boxes contain anything from grades 4-6, mk-3 boxes contain anything from grades 7-9, etc. This would provide materials prizes to distract from the incredibly low drop rates for the more versatile Jawa scrap. They could drop at a fairly decent pace (better than the scrap drop rates anyway). The tiered pricing would limit the pace of turning them into the highest grade materials, and they'd be randomized so we can't just pick and choose the prize that's worth the most on the GTN at the time.

If they can make the slots seem attractive enough, then sure; why not add an alternative purchase option for the tokens that eats up some basic comms? (Cost? 1 token for 1 comm? 1 token for 1 comm and some credits (lower than the regular credits price)? 1 token for more than 1 comm? more than 1 token for 1 comm?)

If we feel like there's something worth hoping for out of the machines, it can act as a credit and/or comms sink while still feeling like a productive use of our time (while burning comms on tokens for the machine in its current form would just feel like a waste of time and like we're only doing it out of some "obligation" to burn off some comms so we don't lose the ones picked up over the cap).

Of course, this idea would be just one of many things that we would hope to see added. Hopefully this wouldn't be the only non-gear option to spend some comms on. Add a new decorations vendor that takes basic comms. Add some random resource boxes (there's already an option like this for fleet comms (really random, unlike my Jawa prize box idea it does not split green / blue / purple into different boxes, they're all jumbled up in the same random pool), although it hasn't been updated to include an option for 3.0 materials). And whatever else people can add to this thread.
