Yojiro
Seriously, though, Darth Dymond gave the most exhaustive, constructive answer than any I've seen on these forums all year. The fact that you almost completely ignored it really does say something. I bet Dymond is secretly a BW operative on their payroll!
DarthDymond
Ok never mind I even posted this Thread. Upon researching a bit , I realize this is going nowhere mainly because the answers to my thread come from people payed to discredit any form of critisism towards any politic EA and other game companies might have. The whole shut up and accept it speach is getting old and tiresome. Nothing that has been said above gives a constructive answer to my question. Well excuse me for daring to criticise this GREAT companies buisiness practices. And I am so sad a company I loved so much (bioware) was bought by this piece of crap. The closest was Heat-Wave. But then again ty for proving to me you actually work for said company. Good bye, have fun...and see you on the other side. If anything remotely resembling 'research' has you convinced that everyone who posts here is actually a BW employee (including Heat-Wave! That genuinely made me lol) then I can put you in touch with this Nigerian Prince who has a great financial opportunity for you. I was actually going to post that I thought some of the replies were a little overboard and some of their criticisms were unwarranted, but if your response to all responses is a sweeping 'you're all just company shills' then trying to pull out the meritorious parts of your argument doesn't seem worth the effort. It's a shame because I think there's probably an interesting discussion to be had about what Subscriber Appreciation Rewards / Benefits people tend to respond to (the 50% discount we got on RotHC probably looks good these days) and which ones they do not (I remember one of the 500 CC gifts being repeatedly called a 'slap in the face'... unironically). Seriously, though, Darth Dymond gave the most exhaustive, constructive answer than any I've seen on these forums all year. The fact that you almost completely ignored it really does say something.I bet Dymond is secretly a BW operative on their payroll! Hahaha - hey, if BW wants to send me a check, I won't turn it down. And thanks, Fidel, that's nice of you to say.
Papazmurf
This just in: Early adopters pay more for stuff than people who wait for the price to drop! In other news, water is wet and the sky is blue. More details as we get them. There are a few replies like this getting lost in an argument of semantics. This is the reality.

JWagner
Your money went to your enjoyment over the last two years. An enjoyment they did not have. You can always not spend your money, and just coast through the game like they did, if it matters that much to you. But I'm sure you subscribe because of the perks, the bonuses, and the entertainment value of the game. If not, if you think you paying makes you special, then you are way off. You and She are essentially getting the same perks, with the same startup costs. [Game + Revan + Sub]. Anything in the past was in the past, and they'd be paying the same thing to start up that you did to start up, and they'll be paying the same thing going forward that you pay going forward. I don't see the issue. They are paying the same startup costs you did for the game. They just didn't have to pay along the way to get there, which sounds to me is your primary argument. Malastare
I am not mad just annoyed...and my reflection is not based on emotions such as jelousy but more on a thought of fairness for everyone. Right: "Fairness". Please define that. In most cases, it comes down to "Every time someone else gets something, I should get something equivalent"... and no comment at all on all the cases where you got something they didn't. When people say that they feel they were treated "unfairly" it usually means that they wanted something they didn't get and that for {insert shallow reason here} they should have gotten it. At no point in your subscription did you pay for something that wasn't made perfectly clear to you at the time of purchase. At no point would anyone with any experience in the modern world assume When Tombraider was released, they were selling it for $60. Loads of people bought it. They played it. They said it was great. I saw it on sale 8 months later and bought it for $7. Is that unfair? Were all the people who played it before somehow retroactively mistreated because I paid less than they did? Did my purchase decrease their enjoyment or remove their memories of the game? Is it unfair that you can rent movies for a third of the cost of a movie ticket? Is it unfair that DVDs for movie franchises that used to sell for $17 each can now be bought in a three-pack for $25? What There is no unfairness here. There's just people who feel entitled to goodies for no reason except the fact that they paid money for something a long time ago. That said, I am not saying I have the answer to this...but only asking for a reflection of the situation and maybe make up my mind in the process on if I should by SOR or not. It's very simple: If you feel that playing SoR right now is worth spending $20, then do it. If you don't want to pay: Don't buy it. If you think its only worth $10 to you, then wait for the price to drop. If you think that you deserve it as a subscriber perk, then wait for it to be added as a subscriber perk. And if you buy it, then remember that you are paying money for that experience today, and that only people who pay have that chance. Understand that the cost of that experience is going to decrease in the future. At some point, its going to be free. If that knowledge decreases the enjoyment of playing the game, then you may want to take some time to reflect on why that is, and if that is truly the outlook you want to have on life, because life is full of those situations and its best to not overload yourself with that sort of stress. Right. Whenever someone comes up with an argument that you cannot refute with logic, refute it with a conspiracy theory that is demonstrably false, but allows you to ignore any further argument since the source "is just part of the conspiracy". TUXs
Ok I am a founder...LOL! Every time someone uses that to describe themselves, I have to laugh. You and 2 million other people lol. Instead, maybe you should try this: "I bought this game at launch and then followed all the kewl kids back to W0W until now"...I bet you get more respect. FantaBuoy
I realize this is going nowhere mainly because the answers to my thread come from people payed to discredit any form of critisism towards any politic EA and other game companies might have Everyone abandon thread, OP just went full retard. OR I could be saying this because I'm secretly an EA agent payed to discredit any form of criticism. Maybe I just don't agree with OP because EA actually pays my subscription fees. Oh, the possibilities. What bothers me the most is that at the start of the thread the OP actually seemed to be someone you could reason with and I actually bothered to try and show him my point of view (and apparently the point of view of many others), but the disguise fell and he was just another kid going through the "I want that toy or else I'm gonna cry non-stop" fase.
