Doomsdaycomes
Hey folks, So I recently began working on being a serious crafter for my guild and for profit. I'm making augments and did pretty well at it (I have more money than I've ever had and I'm fully augmented). In the last three days though my companions have failed over and over to get purple grade 11 slicing mats. Most of them are 8000+ affection and Risha has +1 crit slicing. Am I just hItting a dry spell? Is this normal? Is that 2000 affection really worth that much?
CaptMurphy
Hey folks, So I recently began working on being a serious crafter for my guild and for profit. Am I just hItting a dry spell? Is this normal? Is that 2000 affection really worth that much? Same has happened to me. T7 (+5 crit slicing) has been in a slump the past couple of weeks. To my knowledge, there hasn't been any changes in the slicing drop rates. Unfortunately, we're just RNG victims. psandak
Very much normal. Things to remember about the RNG: Your BEST chance to crit (given the right class, with the right companion, with max affection) with slicing is 22% (T7 is +2 slicing crit NOT +5; NO companion has +5 slicing crit). That is a 78% chance to not-crit. That means you are 3.5 times more likely to not crit as to crit.No mission run impacts the results of any other mission run; your chance to crit does not change no matter how many missions you run. Believing otherwise is the gambler's fallacy. Just keep trying, you will crit again trust me.
Doomsdaycomes
Thanks. It's gotten a little better, and I've dipped my toe into the pool of buying mats and selling product for a bit higher. Less raw profit but more steady stream. Could you break down that 22% crit chance you quoted? Or direct me to a guide, I didn't see one that went into hard numbers when I looked. There are two companions among all the classes that offer +2 crit to slicing. Andronikus (Sith Inq) is one, I do not recall the other. 15+5+2=

Not personally confirmed, but according to Dulfy T7 (JK companion) has a +2 to slicing as well.

Personally I use exclusively T7 and Scorpio for the rich slicing mission Disassembly Required. +2% isn't much, but it's better than nothing. Not personally confirmed, but according to Dulfy T7 (JK companion) has a +2 to slicing as well. T7-01 is indeed a +2 crit in slicing. I also keep Treek at top affection on all my characters and she has a +1 crit on all crafting. RNG is RNG. I run a lot of slicing missions (only rich), both lockbox (love the missions you get from crits) and tech parts and have not hit a dry spell for as long as I remember. RNG has been good to me in the domain of slicing. Since I do not sell my purples (or purple crafted stuff) I have stacks of the adaptive circuitry sitting in my cargo holds. To the OP, keep trying, things even out over the long run.
DarthScruffy
I do high volume War Supplies to get jawa junk to then roll into adaptive circuitry. That seems to be the most effective path right now with the lowest overhead (33 pieces per 10 toons).
