WannEras Posted March 2, 2015 Share Posted March 2, 2015 So I've noticed recently a lot of my kinetic stuns are getting *resisted* by PT tanks. I've had a look into it and can see that there is a talent that increases defence chance by 35% when battle focus is activated. I have been told that this ability is also increasing resist chance by 35% (and can be seen on the character sheet), so is this an ability bug or a tool tip error? When a tooltip says "increases defense" it generally means for all types of damage unless it specifies "melee and ranged" or "force and tech" For instance assassin's deflection tooltip specifies that its only for "melee and ranged attacks" whereas IO's degauss talent (which gives resist and M/R dodge) is missing that specification and just says defense. Col_Wilson Posted March 4, 2015 Share Posted March 4, 2015 As Zoom said, it's not a bug. "Defense Chance" is not the same as "Defense Rating". This skill uses the same description as Advanced Prototype's Sonic Missile and Innovative Ordinance's Chaff Flare. They all increase Defense Chance by a percentage (Shield Techs getting the most), and it includes Force/Tech attacks.
