datacron question.

I'm fairly new to SWTOR and have a question about the datacrons and helping others. I've not collected any of the datacrons. I'm a lvl 51 now and am going to go back and get them. My question is, can I take a new players toon with and will they get credit for the kills I can do?

Well, you certainly can take another player with you. As far as I know, if you group up, the amount of XP another player would get would depend upon the relative differences in level between you and the other player, and the mobs you fight.

If you really want the other player to get XP from kills, the best bet would be to NOT group with the the other player and let them kill things themselves. If they have trouble killing stuff, you can always kill a few for them - just make sure they agro the mobs first so they get "ownership" of the kill. And keep in mind that you can form and dissolve the group as the situation demands.

The datacrrons need to be clicked on by each of you individually, so that doesn't matter whether you're grouped or not.

What do you mean ? Datachrons don't have anything to do with kills. They just have to be found and used.

What made you believe that datachrons had something to do with kills in the game ?

You often have to kill stuff to get to the actual datacron. I am assuming that's what the OP was referring to.
