GumbysBuff Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Yeah... would be nice to post it in Server Alerts... that's what that section is for, yes... Haven't seen anything in there for any of the Harbinger outings. Just saying.. }:-) hehe
EllieAnne Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I'd be willing to start from scratch on another server if they gave me lifetime 12xXP to do it.
nosub Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 with the many times it has gone down, has bioware ever told us why harbinger crashed? nope!
MaximusRex Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Hey folks, Just popping in to let you know they are still looking into the issue, unfortunately I do not have an ETA at this time. I will keep you posted. -eric Sorry, this server that BioWare stuck the majority of us on has been too broken for too long. Its prime time west coast Saturday night and the freaking server is down, again. I can accept that sometimes things happen and a server goes down, but it happens too much on Harbinger. Instead of getting our semi-weekly Harbinger fix ETAs, how about BioWare gets us some information on what they are doing to stop Harbinger crashing every few days during peak play hours, and how they are going to compensate us for the all this peak hour downtime?
-Slaughterhouse- Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 SOE FAIL oh wait...i'm having a flashback of SWG. This is TOR. OR is this a flashback of TOR, and if so, what game am i supposed to be playing?
-Slaughterhouse- Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 anyone notice the times posted are listing AM?
dljtanke Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 So how long do these server crashes usually lost?
GumbysBuff Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 anyone notice the times posted are listing AM? GMT -- that's about 8 hours ahead of PST.. FYI. };-)
Stookydroid Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I only resubbed less then a week ago after about 1.5 years aways... I feel the same. Don't get your hopes up. This is the second time in that week Harbringer has been down. i just subbed 2 days ago and its the 60 day card. and all my good toons are on the harbringer
RogueXLII Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Wish I had known this before consuming copious amounts of caffeine.
Sendric Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I would take a server transfer at this point if it were free and would help lighten the load on the hamsters.
Caleldarx Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 So how long do these server crashes usually lost? It usually takes them about 45 minutes to realize the server is down, 15 mins to think of a something to say on the forums, 25 mins for a pre-server recovery dump, 30 minutes to go find more toilet paper, 10 minutes to post on the forums that they are "investigating" what happened, 15 minute smoke break, realize they forgot to do anything run in and restart the server, take another 15 minute smoke break, 15 minutes to post that the server is back up, sit around and read for 20 minutes, run over and unlock the server so we can log back in. I probably forget a couple steps in there somewhere though...
NeroTethras Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Hey everyone, We are investigating why the Harbinger went down. I will give any updates as soon as I have them! -eric Sounds like a job for the Hardly Boys.
Trikon__ Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I just started playing this game, if I have to start over based on that rumor... I will be extremely upset. Would not continue business with this game either.
lokimogor Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 GMT -- that's about 8 hours ahead of PST.. FYI. };-) Looks like its east cost/european time
GumbysBuff Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Looks like its east cost/european time A lot of game servers go off of GMT time if they have multiple countries playing... doesn't necessarily mean the servers are there, It's just a way to standardize the time for everyone.
Muljo_Stpho Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 anyone notice the times posted are listing AM? You mean the timestamps on forum posts? You can fix that but the setting is not where you would expect to find it. Click on myswtor and find contact information. Open that page and find the box for time zone and change it to the correct setting (which may take some googling to find out what GMT offset matches up with your time zone). This will affect the timestamps in the forums, rather than having a setting in something directly tied to the forums in an obvious way.

In networking if everything is not on the same time, a lot of stuff can go wrong. Just sayin.

lokimogor Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 The sarcasm is strong, really all depends on which option they are using to resolve it. A simple reboot to clear out an hung issues followed by troubleshooting of any additional issues. But at this point a full replacement of the hardware sounds in order
